Has anyone ever done a gimmick where the wrestler thinks it's still the 1970's and wrestles and cuts promos in a similar fashion? He insists on doing "tests of strength" at the beginning of every match, finishes people with a sleeper hold, and wears singlets?

I was watching some old AWA wrestling on youtube the other day and was thinking how hilarious that concept would be.

That OC/Pac match got in my recommended feed even though I don’t watch wrestling. That was some entertaining shit.

I don’t know how OC can translate that gimmick into anything above mid card, but that’s the most I’ve seen a wrestler be over with the fans in a long-ass time.
