The evisceration of Kobe stans on thecoli have been fueling me.

LeBron's so good that Kobe stans have had to retreat from hating to concern trolling to conditional surrender ("he's not that much better than Kobe").  It's amazing.

Anyway, I don't see the need for future NBA seasons. This should be it. Shut down the league and end it. This can be the Ragnarok of our age. Maybe if people still want basketball in a few years, we could reboot it and start over with a new name for the league, new teams, etc.

So mad.

Let's see

Kobe: Fostered an era of me first bullshit basketball:

Lebron: Fostering an era of all around play.

One created Vince Carter types...meh

One created Kevin Durant types....damn

With actual LeBron haters in the media (Woj, Bayless, probably a ton of middle aged white radio dudes), weird that you're grinding that axe with Windhorst.

I've said this 29 times. Follow how he reported James after he left the heat. Listen to his shit about Lebron unfollowing him. I mean you're a pretty smart guy....

Hell, look at his reaction in the video linked right above.

I've read his stuff, and I don't see any sort of vendetta.  He defended LeBron when people were calling him a "coach killer" after Blatt's firing, wrote a long article on LeBron bringing a more professional culture to the Cavs, etc.

Sure he's been more critical on certain things, but I don't think you have to be a cheerleader 100% of the time.

I think windhorst is fine on the "fact" sides when he sticks to that. He's less good when he sometimes uses his facts to build larger points that are debatable based on the facts he is presenting. I also tend to like him less when opinion based talk shows bring him on and let him indulge on that opinion side. When he just sticks to the facts he is a lot better. On balance though I think there are a lot worse out there. And sometimes he does bring good insight. I think he was the first to give really good insight into the divide between Lebron and Blatt while mostly staying neutral on it. I compare that to the hit-piece Marc Stein wrote that was basically a how dare Lebron question his coach type article.

Woj basically trades favorable coverage for access, so you get some astoundingly one-sided "behind the scenes" stories from him.  I assume he's never been able to get a source inside LeBron's camp, and that's the root of his grudge.  Or maybe he just has some weird fixation like Walrus.

Either way, it's profoundly weird that he's made a career of writing about a sport he seemingly doesn't even like.

Lebron locks down media better than anyone since Jordan. Never been a leak on anything he was doing. Impressive in this day and age.

Feature writers have always been entertainers first, reporters second. So, some are going to go against the grain on players just for the attention or just as a writing exercise.

There were plenty of Jordan detractors back in the day. Right up until that last threepeat.

I count six already, and you figure Anthony Davis and KAT are locks if they stay healthy.

Speaking of Dwight and Ric Bucher:
Quote
Considering that amount of history, Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report predicts that D12 will return to his old stomping grounds this offseason:

"I'm gonna say Dwight Howard is headed back to Orlando. I've actually heard that the Magic are warming to the idea it doesn't mean that it's a done deal. but ultimately Dwight wants to go someplace where he's a little more appreciated, that hasn't been the case in Houston. And now that the Magic have Frank Vogel, who did wonders with Roy Hibbert, it makes all the sense in the world that Dwight would be a nice fit. Especially given the Magic haven't been relevant in the Eastern Conference for awhile and they're not going to land a big-name free agent other than Dwight Howard."

Just saw the rumor about Denzel Valentine allegedly having a degenerative knee issue which is the reason why he's falling down draft boards everywhere. His defense really improved during the season and you could tell that the fall off during the Big Ten tournament and NCAA tournament was injury related. Scrubs were blowing past him, he was slow on offense, etc.

Kobe wasn't even a top 5 player in most of the seasons he played.

Considering Rose's injury prone status, Knicks' cursed team status, and it being 2016 I fear for his life.

Don't forget Rose has a court date on the same day the pre-season begins.

It's not my theory, a few people have speculated that he wants to be an owner one day, preferably of the Cavs.

He has the championship now which potentially makes it easier to leave but I doubt he will. Irving is only going to get better, might as well stay and see what can happen. Attract more ring chasing vets plus some solid role players and go to the finals a few more times.

GS remains a major threat of course, it's not like they're going to disappear. I wonder how they'll re-group and who they'll sign.

As for ownership I would not be surprised if he has a clause in his contract. It's not secret Gilbert wants the Lions or Browns so I could see Lebron sliding in while DG moves into new things in 5/10 years, sure.
