Freaking distinguished mentally-challenged fellows. The "cheapest" Blu Ray player is $500-600. Currently the HDTV penetration rate in American homes is very low, although reports indicate that 2009 will be the year it picks up. Yet that certainly doesn't guarentee Blu Ray and HD-DVD will be a success. In fact on GAF no one seemed to be able to talk about the race until Blu Ray just started winning.

GAF is full of people disconnected from reality. They work their little jobs and spend thousands on electronics while expecting everyone else to use their money the same. I'm sorry, but most adults don't spend $1500 on a fucking TV just so they can see 300 extra wrinkles on Morgan Freeman's face. HD looks far better than SDTV yea, but people simply don't care enough RIGHT NOW to make a jump. Hell DSL internet blows 56k away yet the DSL penetration rate in this country is laughable. If Americans don't care how slow their internet is why do people expect them to care how many shades of mascara they can see on Katie Couric's ugly face?
