Oddbox is going to be 50% off for the first 24 hours of release on the 20th.

So for $12.50 you get Abe's Odysseus, Abe's Exodus, Munch's Odyssey, and Strangers Wrath.  Or you can buy them individually for $2.50, $2.50, $5.00, $7.50 respectively.

Good deal.

you missed the second post in the gaf thread:

it sounds like the dev is planning to update the PC version with the PS3 version's graphical upgrade.  They wanted to get the PC Oddboxx out now and the PS3 version just isn't done yet.

I think I'm just about done with Team Fortress 2. At first this whole buying weapons to get them faster didn't bother me until it was apparent that these new weapons drop less than normal ones and that people who spend the $50 have a much better chance of doing winning than those who don't.

Shoulda made it cosmetic things only.

I was done with TF2 when the microtransaction patch hit.  It now feels less like a game, and more of a grind.

Is Munch's Odyssey any good?  I already own the Abe games on Steam and I have heard nothing but good things about Strangers Wratch, but Munch seems to always be the odd man out.

I only played the demo of Munch's Odyssey that was on the original Halo CE disc.  I don't remember liking it, but I'm willing to pick up the oddbox as a whole (I don't own the first two games here either) and give it a shot.

I didn't mind the store but the rate that new items are coming out with new attributes is a bit worrying. I don't even know what half of them do.

I really hope so. I want to play Strangers Wrath real bad but dont wanna slum it playing the PS3 version. I'll hold back on it and see whether or not they update the graphics on the PC version

My biggest gripe against TF2 is that the items are random drops.  I'm not inherently against the concept of a cash shop, but a game needs to give players an option to work towards unlocking items, even if it is at a snails pace compared to spending real money.  Random drops make it feel like you are pissing away time hoping for a particular item.

iirc, it's a lot like an archaic form of Pikmin mixed with some really simple puzzles. I haven't played it in a loooooooong time.

So, I got to use my new headset today and Team Fortress 2 is all fucked up. Microphone Boost can't be disabled or it'll just reset to default. I know for a fact my sound card works and I'm pretty sure it worked for Team Fortress 2 in the past so I uninstalled the drivers that I recently updated to play Mirror's Edge and reinstalled the old drivers.

I also deleted Steam and all the games installed so now I have to wait 20 years for TF2 to download because of the Christmas sale. I'm going to be really pissed if this can't be fixed. And if this did fix the issue, I'll never play Mirror's Edge again. At least with sound on.

Have you tried disabling microphone boost in your sound card's properties?

Maybe the company that has paid for the rights to release it in your country wants control over how it gets advertised. If (say) the US trailer contains content that they consider likely to offend people in your region, they will be pissed off at the US advertisers for letting you see it. Nobody wants to take these kind of risks, so it gets pulled, and INTERNET FURY results. Just think about it from someone else's perspective once in a while and your rage at lack of free stuff all the time will dissipate somewhat.

Yeah, almost certainly it's Capcom holding off the contractual agreement until after that sale was passed. I can't imagine the Japanese PC gaming contingent could bring Steam to its knees, but you can bet that Capcom's still trying to figure out how to make some money off that distribution contract.

to anyone who bought Oddworld Strangers Wrath back during Christmas, the patch to fix it was released and it seems to do just that.  It's still lacking some options and there are the quirks of a console port, but it runs smooth at my monitors native resolution now.  smooth as locked at 76 vsync'd, potentially more, compared to in the teens.
