Kids playing Minecraft transition quite smoothly between different platforms. The game has already sold more on consoles than on PC and I expect strong sales from the XB1/PS4 versions in August.

Doesn't the increased PC market growth offset the decline in home consoles and handhelds? It seems to me that the overall market is continuing to grow and people are buying all kinds of games.

Serious question. Why do gamers hate on "casual" games like Peggle but worship vapid story game experiences? Why are "casual" games so threatening? Many of today's "casual" games are just old genres. Why is Angry Bird Star Wars and Cut the Rope Experiments bad, but hollywood gaming blockbuster number 99999 good?

Console gaming has also taken a very heavy hit, even as budgets climb higher and higher. 

Also doesn't help that consumers have been through a few generations of gaming now and there's very little newness amongst traditional console games.

Kinda confirms my feelings that Microsoft destroyed a lot of goodwill with the X1 that the built up with the 360. PS4 also had crazy shortages during christmas and large parts of spring, so the difference could be even bigger. Obviously regarding the previous generation PS3 had a really slow start due to the price, but the 360 was a legitimate alternative, not this time around though.

EA has a much more diverse and numerous portfolio and I'd still call an EA sub pretty tenuous, but I can see people be satisfied with the offer. Ubisoft too. But not Activision. They tried with CoD Elite and that didn't do well enough.

Its not just the possibility of Activision joining but what it might enable for the others (you even added Ubisoft yourself  ).

Also, don't be foold by a PC demo with a One controller. There just aren't official drivers for the DualShock 4 so it's just easier to roll with a One for maximum on-the-road compatibility.

the top 3 is a re-release, a 360 port of a five year old PC game and a nine month old annual iteration of a sport which your country traditionally hates. basically anything which gets released to next gen consoles is probably going to reach the top 10.
