Just finished watching all 7 seasons of Star Trek TNG (took over a year and a half). Amazing show. Definitely up there with my other favourites, The Wire and BSG. Just started watching Game of Thrones :rock up to ep 6, and it's up to ep 7 right? Great show so far. Never read any of the books. Lord Tyrion :bow2 I love that little dwarf bastard

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I want to see more about the white walkers it was such a tease in the first ep  >:(

Just finished watching all 9 seasons of Star Trek TNG (took over a year and a half).

That's impressive, since there were only 7 seasons of TNG.

Watching the new Superjail episodes. The animation is as outstanding as ever, but they're committing the cartoon sin of having full episodes dedicated to super-minor fringe characters.

I am on season 2 of Curb Your Enthusiasm and to be honest, while it's a great show, I don't find it amazing. I mean, it's really similar to Seinfeld, which I love. But I'm finding I like Sunny and Seinfeld far more. I think it's mostly the characters that does it for me so far, and the documentary style isn't really my thing either.

Does it getter better on later seasons? I mean, it's a fantastic tv show but something about it...just makes me not want to watch.

If you don't like it now, you won't ever like it. Season 2 of Curb is a pinnacle of television.

And now I'll shit on a different parade by saying I don't care for The Sopranos after watching a few episodes.

Each Season of the Sopranos starts weak, PD.  It's always a buildup to the climax of the season.  Season 2 is quite possibly the best season of the Sopranos.  Season 1 is far weaker because the show as a whole is trying to find its footing and tone.  It starts out kind of silly and eventually finds its footing as a serious drama.

could bend that a little. season six was pretty damn frontloaded. but i suppose even its small stakes story produced a satisfying 'climax' (paris trip episode)

 but anyway...

cool to hear about the uncharacteristic display of vulnerabilty in the new 'you're getting old' southpark ep.

must be the long-at-last broadway musical success Trey has so dreamed about and the accompanying Tonys validation (why this sunday night since you asked!). packing it up for more sensitive and :tophat directions? http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...-parker-171189

but that's more hasty than real talk.  first half of season15(!) ... little underrated. foul start but later eps showed the series knack for compact manic plotlines.

Weird, I always pictured Stannis as Kevin McKidd, though the coloring is off - which wouldn't be a huge deal, but hair color is such an important plot point.

How can you like Gundam but not BSG? They're very similar: space opera, drama on spaceships, explosions, emphasis on characterization and the horrors of the characters' pasts, single ships being chased lightyears with no help while examining the consequences of war and civilization and everything that goes with it. If you had mechs instead of the planes, BSG would be an awesome Gundam show.

I wouldn't like that either. Starbuck and the Adamas were the best things about the show to me. I couldn't care for the other characters no matter how much I tried. One season was enough for me.

Well, BSG is all about the characters so if you don't like the characters it's kinda hard to like the show.

Personally, I think all the characters are great and season 1 is the best overall season though I haven't finished 4 yet. I don't see what's so bad about the other characters? They're all pretty well developed.

You've given it a good shake. Not everything is for everybody. Plus I think the first season is the best season so if it didn't hook you there, its probably not going to hook you.

It exists and it's terrible.

Also, comparing BSG to Gundam is just stupid. Gundam is primarily made to sell toys and aimed at kids and nerds. BSG is made for adults and nerds.

To me Gundam is about war and people dying in space. It's an incredibly negative franchise, aimed at kids (in Japan at least) or not, I find the end portion of BSG to be very Gundam-esque. The situation feels utterly hopeless and I've had a similar feeling watching the multitude of Gundam series over the years.

True blood was pretty good, they seem to be trying a new formula for Tara MMA + hot girlfriend - distinguished mentally-challenged hair, to bad it doesn't seem to be working so far, although her scenes were much better than the Jessica's and his redneck ones just kill her off if she is not gonna show her tits!

Watched the first season of Luther over the weekend.  It's a bit sensational and the connections made in the case work are almost wholly tenous, often absolutely ridiculous - Luther's detective work has more in common with Adam West's Batman than Columbo -  but Idris Elba is irresistable as a lead.  I could watch him eat a big bowl of peas for six hours.
