I have livid but haven't watched it.  I read that Detention is a slasher film set in a school so I'm hesitant to even check it out.

Took until end of last episode for me to call this season good. hopefully progressively worse things start happening.

considering we've been almost polar opposite with regards to the quality of the show up to now, this makes sense

This season of Breaking Bad is already better than S4 imo, and could surpass S3 depending on how things play out. If you just watch shows for action and twists, perhaps it's not for you. I think some of the writing has been ridiculous in terms of the various heists that have gone down (breaking into a police station, magnets, etc) but they sell it well enough to make you not dwell on the logistics. Also the emotional stuff has been amazing this season. Skylar's confrontations with Walt especially. Plus you can tell Hank is slowly, slowly putting the pieces together.

Breaking Bad has been amazing thus far. I've long maintained The Shield has the best final season of any show, but I think Breaking Bad has the potential to surpass it. Not saying it's certain/guaranteed but so far it's been stunning.

BB was excellent last night. That dinner scene - holy shit did I feel bad for Jesse, so awkward.

TB was pretty good, I wish we got to see more of last night's awesome Russell this season but I'm sure next week will have plenty. This season has also done the unthinkable - made me not mind when Tara is on screen, I'm enjoying the Tara-Pam dynamic a lot.

Watching the Larry Sanders Show since it's streaming on Netflix.  Pretty fascinating time capsule of the Clinton-era late night format and celebrity, plus the core trio of Jeffrey Tambor, Rip Torn and Garry Shandling are just amazing.  I imagine there's probably some necessary prerequisite for tolerating Shandling's constant, overbearing neuroses and whining, but I can't get enough.

i watched a trailer and it looks pretty damn good. Is there a recurring cast, or random people asking for something each episode?

more importantly it has GEORGE MASON from 24 as the lead :bow

You seem to have this need to root for Skyler for some reason and root against Walt.  Seriously, when you watch a movie like Scarface who exactly are you rooting for, Tony's mom? It has been known since the series began that Vince Gilligan wanted to take a normal guy and turn him into Tony Montana Jr. That is the ride you are on, you can hate Walt if you wish but it is not like the characters around him are saints. Shocker, Jessie is a whinny ass bitch again. Fortunately there was only a minimal amount of Skyler this episode.

For what it is worth I think in the end Walt will get killed and the person doing the killing is Skyler.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I liked Mike and he did go out with a badass quote, that said Mike was too smart for how this episode ended. Trusting the guy he despises to get his bag with a gun, knowing he is unarmed, instead of Jessie who posed absolutely no threat? Weak sauce there by the writers.

Gilligan had described his goal with Walter White as turning Mr. Chips into Scarface, and has deliberately made the character less and less sympathetic.

Lots of people were on Team Walt until this episode, or maybe the last one.

There's been a mass exodus from the Team Walt wagon over the last 2-3 episodes. Last week's episode wasn't the breaking point for me. This week's episode was. Walt finally did something that you can't rationally justify.

I like how he doesn't even apologize profusely. He only says what he says at the end because he has to tell himself that hey, it's only a fuck up. Things happen. He doesn't care there's a human life dying next to him.

The thing I really didn't like about this episode, and in hindsight the last one:

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Mike was always super cautious. Yet he only ties one of Walt's hands up in the previous episode. This might have been an acceptable overlook if not for tonight's ep, where Mike meets Walt alone and doesn't seem on guard at all; he knew a gun was in the bag afterall. They seem like convenient lapses to allow the writers to kill him off

I get a real kick out of Breaking Bad moralizers. No one should feel much sympathy for anyone on the show, really. And especially the big three, considering that just LAST episode ago they

chopped up a little boy and dissolved him in hydroflouric acid just to avoid paying for the consequences of their actions.

They're all murderers, multiple times over. Just because some of them felt bad or caught feelings about it afterwards doesn't make them any less of the scummy criminals they are.  Walt nailed it when he was berating Jesse for still taking the money, and I think that bit was Vince Gilligan speaking indirectly to the audience. Don't feel bad for any of these people. They all rationalize their crimes and try to cover their asses.  They all have it coming.
