Season 2 of
Supernatural starts stronger than just about any episodes from season 1. The stuff they did with Sam and Dean, the way the writers handled the father, it was good -- not groundbreaking, and a little nonsensical -- but somehow better than the sum of the parts.
I have a hard time believing the actions of the father, though he is clearly looking back at some of his decisions with regret. Even so, his choice felt clumsily conveyed. Also, this sudden thing with "demons" being like Matrix Agents, where they can easily and suddenly possess anyone they want, feels like a poorly considered decision in the universe construction, and I am worried that there will be all kinds of unaddressed issues, on par with Star Trek's
"Well, why don't they just use the teleported to beam the MacGuffin away" situations.
I'm hooked though; it did improve. Then when I went to get the next discs at the video store, they were GONE.
