Die Another Day is worse because you get that fun weird old-school cheese factor from moonraker and a view to a kill. Die Another Day is just shitty.

transporter 3 is pure shit.  the relationship angle is cringeworthy
chaos was bland
Australia was tolerable I guess but the greenscreen and cgi were awful. unconvincing relationship.

Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father  - holy fucking hell.  It's like an emotional kick to the balls.  I wasn't too impressed at the beginning but this one had me in tears by the end.  Yeah, it's pretty manipulative but I was absolutely devastated when it was all over.  I don't want to give away any details of what happens but everyone should see this documentary.   Best one I've seen in quite awhile.   It's available to watch instantly on Netflix btw.

Happy Go Lucky

I thought I would like this more than I actually did.  It's a solid piece of character.  But I found some of the characters really grating and several parts were uncomfortable to sit through.  I'll always enjoy British accents though.  They make everything better :)

Sex Drive

Was ok.  Not as good as the Apatow films, but not terrible like some of the teen films of the 90s.  At least kept me entertained for 2 hours.

Punisher Warzone - wow, Ray Stevens completely owned this. He just looks deadly in every single situation. The plot and supporting cast was thin as toilet paper though. It wouldn't have taken much to polish this up to a genuinely good action flick, as opposed to about 15 mins of youtubable Ray-Stevens-being-awesome with lots of dull filler, which is what we got.

Hard Candy

Holy shit duders, this is one of the most suspenseful films I've ever seen. The tension can be cut with a knife from beginning to end, The manipulation going on is often so uncomfortable. Ellen Page is just fantastic in this movie, and while I still think she's fugly I can't talk shit about her ever again. In fact, the movie really relies on a couple of performances, more like a play than the average film.

Milk

IMO this is an avalanche of a movie; it starts out fast but rather un-compelling, but as time goes on it just starts rolling and never lets up. I wasn't really impressed with Penn's performance until almost half way through. He's giving a speech, shortly before winning election...and everything seems to just click. It's a great performance, although I thought Josh Brolin's was the best in the film. The surrounding cast is great, from Brolin to Franco to Hirsh. I kinda thought the script was rather preachy at times, and at other times it seemed more like the screenwriter was talking through characters; like the scene where a suicidal kid calls Milk for support

The buildup to the climax really reminded me of Malcolm X; you know what's about to happen and just sense this feeling of dread, like you sort of don't want to see what comes next. And although the music and slow motion kinda feels like the direction if fishing for tears, Penn's last scene is still rather powerful

Religulous

Knowing the 'Bore, I am probably one of the last ones to have seen this film.  I found it entertaining.  The results were to be expected and not really surprising.  I think he would have done better if his facial expression was not smug and condescending, which might have produced better results.  Not that would have stopped many of the people he interviewed with anyway though.

This was Netflixed so on one hand, it was worth the watch.  On the other hand, I don't think it is really worth spending any money on.  Although this is limited to one church and is loosely related, I still think Jesus Camp remains supreme.  None of the crazy and angry answers in Religulous topped a bunch of people speaking in tongues next to a George Bush cutout.

who keeps casting nick cage as a leading man? alex proyas of dark city fame wastes all our time with a complete red herring of a plot that totters along to the most bombastic and silly non-ending ever filmed. en route to a uselessly cg-mangled conclusion that manages to make "untouching" a real word, we are treated to yet another classic nick cage performance -- and by "classic" i mean "predictably mumbly and spastic by turns" -- and the most histrionic acting by a female lead since the last time sally field got knocked up on film. the audio is so cheesy i shit my pants. pass! alex, remake the crow or something.

Hard Candy was pretty zzz for me until the asian lady came over and then things went into overdrive. And it had too much shaky cam. But it had a blonde redhead song at the end.

and as you saw, the emile hirsch blowjob scene was pretty not graphic, pd.

Bourne Supremacy

Almost as good as the first, and it's still not set in the US which is a good point since it keeps it interesting and a little different.

The excessive camera shakiness is really what brings it down a notch.  The fights scenes and car chases were probably about as good as the first movie, but a lot of the time I couldn't see what was going on because the camera was shaking all over the place.

I thought the story was good for a sequel, it seemed like a good worthwhile and self-contained story, not just an extension or tack-on to the first movie.

Blindness

How to fail at common sense. Or how to fail at plot? I have not read the portuegese original, which I hope is more sensible or believable or just greater in any sense than the film.

I can't suspend disbelief that someone who can see when all else are blind will continue to act blind while she and others get raped, taken advantage of, starved to death and gunned down like prairie dogs.

And then when she does declare she can see, and always has been able to see, nobody gets pissed off at her. Oh thanks babe, for letting us get raped.

And the fucking gun. Gabriel Garcia does the best performance in the flick, which is amazing since his character is born out of absurdity. He shows up, a total ass, and magically has a gun. Were these people not searched? Wouldn't you think they'd search for firearms? Why does he have a gun? He's a bartender at a classy hotel. How does he have so many bullets as to be firing off random rounds willy nilly as to scare people?

Speaking of the treatment of the patients, its unbelievably ignorant and cruel. I guess Governments really are evil and yet dumb. Stormtroopers United is the republic where this takes place I guess.

And after commiting atrocities of common sense inside a rundown quarantine for hours, the movie finally breaks out into the open daylight and public. And once they get there, you can tell the writer has run out of anywhere to go with a plot that has not neared a decent ending yet. So you think "What the hell can this writer do to end this bitch? Oh thats right, the only way to go is to make them see again." And boom, next scene and they start to regain their ability to see, roll credits.

Now to the benefit of the film, the last bit before the writer runs out of avenues to go, makes the ending say quite a bit. Here, the people, void of sight, finally unite and create a family with no prejudice. They need each other, absolutely, to survive. But once they regain their sight, they no longer need each other and you can feel that they'll all split apart again, independent and distant.

Unfortunately, the plot is unbelievable and the characters as well. If the film had some development and truth to it on the way to that ending, then this could have been a fine movie. As it is, it's bullocks.

Yeah, viewed purely as a documentary it kind of fails because it completely throws any objectivity out the window and normally that sort of thing bugs the hell out of me but considering that it originally began as a tribute to murdered friend I can forgive the director for having a strong point of view here.  And the last 20-30 minutes of the film....god damn.  I can't remember the last time I've watched something that effected me so much.  I was bawling like a schoolgirl and I never cry.
