Drogba! I forgot about him. Japan is going to have a helluva time defending now and Ivory is getting closer and closer to their goal upon each approach. If they don't keep their defenses well manned the game will be tied.

Japan defense is having trouble catching up with Ivory Coast's offense. In that last goal, Japan was still in transition and not in full defense mode. Ivory is transitioning FAST. Japan are also now struggling probing the oppositions defensive line.

Wouldn't be surprised if final is 3-1 unless Japan picks up the slack.

What a tournament so far! Really enjoying everything so far except the first game.

Himuro, you posted a link about ratings, for reference more then 7 million people watched the Holland game in Holland. The 2010 final was watched by 12 million people. Population 16.8 million.

Even a game like Costa Rica pulled 2.36 milion viewers.

Thats orange fever :p

good game england. feels weird to say that.

we probably earned something out of it, but the performance was enough to take the sting out of the evening. points would be nice, but uruguay were shocking earlier and i don't think a semi-fit suarez can salvage them if it was anything other than an off day.

italy are looking like real contenders - 95% pass completion rate?

France v Honduras

Prediction: 2-0

France have a very good team and could make it to the semi-finals with that squad. They are squaring up against Honduras, who is FIFA rank 32 out of 32. Honduras has a lot going against them, but they are a hard working team and have a lot to prove. They also have an advantage due to climate.

One thing this World Cup has shown me is to NOT. UNDERESTIMATE. THE POOR COUNTRIES. Just don't do it! I think France will win, but there's a slight chance Honduras will come ahead.

So let's talk about this "goal line technology". Does the ref look at it? Even if it is accurate, does it sway the ref or is it just for fans?

The ref has a watch on his arm that gets a signal from the system within 1 second if it detects a goal, so yeah, it sways him

Biz is number 1 in the fantasy game.

I'm confused why though because I said 2-1 Argentina and he still gained more points from the match than me even though we were both wrong. Confusing. Is it because I gave a point to Bosnia?

not impressed by the argies. while i'd love for our talismanic underperformer to nab a peach of a goal, i don't think it entirely exonerates what was otherwise another lackluster messi performance.

they should be far more threatening considering the insane pace they have on the break, but it all looked confused and lacking direction in the final 25 yards.

bosnia lived up to the occasion for sure. can't see them struggling to get out of the group if they bring that game to the other two teams.

good luck to USA tomorrow. hope you get something out of this WC before being exiled back to playing dirt tier teams like honduras for the next four years. maybe google can buy UEFA and mandate your inclusion.

:lol at people being angry at Klinsmann.

LvG said the same about Holland so what.

Is it so uncommon to put yourself in the underdog or outsider position in the US?

Quote
BARCELONA star Gerard Pique tells a story about the time Louis van Gaal came over for dinner. It dates to The Netherlands coach’s first spell in charge of Barcelona.

Pique was barely in his teens then, just another promising player at the club’s academy, but he was of fine stock. His grandfather, Amador Bernabeu, was a director at the Nou Camp. He had the sort of pull that could get the coach round for tea.

“He was the Barcelona coach, for God’s sake, and I was 13 or 14,” Pique recalled. “I said to him that I’d like to be playing in the first team in three or four years. But he pushed me and I fell over. He just said: ‘He's too weak to play for Barcelona’.”

Guys, to be fair, we are learning. In the USA, the idea of fans participating in sports is unheard of. All the leagues try to offer some entertainment. When you go to an NFL or NBA game there's always blaring shitty music like Welcome to the Jungle x 999999. Yes, they play it more than a Final Fantasy critical hit. During half time they have these stupid shows for DA WHOLE FAMILY like random people getting a try to shoot the ball. All the leagues except MLS, don't WANT you to participate in the game. They want to be family-friendly activities (tm) and to be as passive as possible. They want to go there, shut the fuck up, yell DE-FENSE because we are boring as shit, buy popcorn, and leave. Only MLS even allows that level of crowd interaction, and we need a big push.
