I'm actually trying out contacts for the first time (well, in like two weeks or so). I wanted to for a long time but my eye doctor kept saying "your eyes suck; you need these rigid contacts that are expensive, non-disposable and uncomfortable." When I switched to a new one, they said the old doctor didn't know jack from shit and I could and should have had contacts for years.

Glasses are ok. I can't pull off those crazier styles so I end up with something boring. Only exception is a oliver people emerson frame, but those are expensive.

Both my dad and uncle underwent the surgery and it went pretty much fine. And this is over 10 years ago for both of them, I think. I'll get it sometime, I guess. My optometrist always told me to get it once my prescription stabilized. But I haven't asked him about it in a couple of years...

God damn. I didn't even realize you could wear them. A few Army guys I know who went to Iraq and Afghanistan had to stick with glasses because the contacts could melt and adhere to their eyes, or something awful like that.

That's another misconception.

The fuzzy night vision is actually caused by the corrected eye-sight being so strong that it's starting to perceive the parallel universe(s).
