Pink Floyd founder Roger Waters waded neck-deep into the acrimony of Brazil’s presidential election on Tuesday night, condemning the far-right frontrunner, Jair Bolsonaro, as a neo-fascist in the mold of Donald Trump, Nigel Farage and Hungary’s Viktor Orbán.
During a concert at São Paulo’s Allianz Park stadium, Waters drew cheers of support and a barrage of expletives for repeatedly denouncing Bolsonaro

First reactions are everything:To be fair, Assi's talking about voting in the Brazilian presidential election for the candidate he's been promoting for weeks in the International thread because some "liberals" "attacked" him last night. It's possible he hadn't even heard about a shooting in the United States when he made this thread. Let alone formed a headline based hot take on it he'll dig in to defend no matter what yet.

“Guys I gotta come out, I’m officially became a Conservative today.”
Don’t even have the fucking decency to wait 12 hours for these assholes to make it about themselves. Can’t wait to turn on the news this morning and hear some asshole take up more air time whining about the DEMOCRAT PARTY potentially taking their guns than the antisemetic terroism we had yesterday.
“The military uses AR-15s and that shit is a high-performance, highly customizable beast... calling it military grade is an arbitrary distinction though, they even use common US sidearms! Please argue with me, I need attention!”

I used to say I was just culturally Jewish or "Jew-ish" but I spent the summer in Israel with a bunch of fellow jews - some religious, some not. Someone at one point said that its important to remember that the Nazis killed all jews, regardless of what they considered themselves. I, a very nonreligious Jew, would be standing on the same firing line as a devout orthodox Jew.
Living in the US has really shielded me from the antisemitic realities of the past and of other countries. It is events like these that remind me how Jews have been treated or looked upon for the majority of our past
Its also events like this that remind me why its vital to conceal carry. You never know when things like this will happen. Many of the people around me always say "just leave it for the police" but even the best police officers in the world cannot be around you 24/7. Even the strictest gun control laws in the world will not be able to stop a lone, crazed gunman shooting at your friends, family, and neighbors.
I carry at Temple. Most of the men and some of the women carry at my temple. This is why. While I would prefer to have our country in a completely different place, white liberals are getting the tiniest taste of what it's like to be a Jew (and probably other minority groups but I can't speak for them) in America.
There are some evil fucks put there who want to kill us just because of who we are. We live with that every day, even when Obama was president. This is what really boils my blood when priviledged white liberals come gun grabbing. They would make us defenseless against these evil fucks.
Never again means never fucking again.
So are they not allowed to talk about it?
I mean, okay I went back and I do remember it now, sure. I can see how rolling right into glad I’m strapped is gauche, but more than anything I find it understandable. And, well I missed the edit but to me Seagrams did nothing but smugly goad the entire exchange

Week is going to vote for a fucking military regime. How can he vote anyways? I thought he was american.
He probably can't. He's also probably in America and making shit up based on some rando anecdote he saw on Facebook. Regardless, this isn't a thread where you need to defend your thoughts and feelings on gun control and US politics. This is a shit on Assy for being a pussy thread.
"Glad I have insurance!" would be just as gauche. My point is she jumped straight to talking about her own gun collection as the first response to the news and by her third response was just posting a laughing emoji.
Which isn't even to say she's not empathetic towards the victims, but if she is then she ought to at least understand what a terrible job those posts did of expressing that empathy.
I hoped to have good news for the Bore this week as I promised last week but that is now put on hold for at least another week.
BUT, today or tonight I should say (technically this morning here but whatever) I can honestly say I became a conservative. All my life I was a liberal, all my adult life I voted for democrats with liberal agendas but I have been changing over the last few years as I have been going back and forth to other countries.
Today was the tipping point-
As I made a road trip I was advised not to do, and then tried not to do but was coerced into doing I almost fucking died.
Let me explain -
Between Sao Paulo to Rio it's about a 5.5 hour trip if you take the main highway. In Sao Paulo, a mainly conservative or at least business oriented leaning state everything is somewhat organized, people have respect, the law somewhat works relative to the rest of the country.
This is no more apparent than on the highway. As you drive on the main highway between the two states you start to notice the change. As you leave Sao Paul to enter Rio things go from smooth asphalt, lines clearly defined, wide roads, speed traps, and police station every few miles, to pot holes, short condensed lines with poor lighting , etc.
As we are in an hour or so into Rio we enter a very dangerous part of the highway called "Dutra" I was warned that the driver needed to know this area very well because it is literally fucking insane. You have these rigs flying on these terrible narrow highway roads without any consideration. But since my driver was born and raised here all his life I figured ok we're golden...
what happens? A fucking rig turns into our line without seeing us and smears us into the median. I'm sitting in the passenger side and I hear the goddamn scrapping and the windows shattering right next to me. It was horrific. I don't know how no one died or how we didn't all die. It was nuts. And you think he stopped??? Nope. He kept going.
There is no law in liberal states. People are fearless of consequences. They think everything is wonderful like a college campus. Coincidently, around the same time this happens a goddamn college professor from around here sends out this mass text about voting for fucking "Haddad" which is the left wing puppet of one of the former presidents that is in jail.
I'm not saying liberalism is bad, but I believe the left is here to occasionally break and rebuild the system for the better, but the ones that need to run this country, or any country should probably be the conservatives.
Today I vote conservative for the first time in my life.
Assi is going to vote for a fucking military regime. How can he vote anyways? I thought he was american.I am a dual citizen. I will vote in the mid-term election since I am returning to the states (part of my good news to the bore)
To be fair, Assi's talking about voting in the Brazilian presidential election for the candidate he's been promoting for weeks in the International thread because some "liberals" "attacked" him last night. It's possible he hadn't even heard about a shooting in the United States when he made this thread. Let alone formed a headline based hot take on it he'll dig in to defend no matter what yet.Correct, I had no idea about a shooting until I got home last night. I saw some headline but I haven't read anything yet.
lolol someone beat up assi? coulda run away if you didn't have them chickenlegs ya skinny old pussy :lolI did not get beat up Mr Breaks. I would have run away if that were to happen because people don't just "beat you up" here, they kill you.
Was he jumped by a bunch of liberal distinguished transsexual fellettes? What's the story Assy? That would have been fun, actually. Good story to tell but unfortunately not the case.
He's a fucking moron. People like him make me want to vote conservative even in the states. The guy has no goddamn clue about this country, how dangerous it is, how innocent people get assaulted and murdered every day.The day the music diedhttps://www.theguardian.com/music/2018/oct/10/roger-waters-jair-bolsonaro-brazil-concertQuotePink Floyd founder Roger Waters waded neck-deep into the acrimony of Brazil’s presidential election on Tuesday night, condemning the far-right frontrunner, Jair Bolsonaro, as a neo-fascist in the mold of Donald Trump, Nigel Farage and Hungary’s Viktor Orbán.

On his most recent tour he had visuals mocking Trump as the background for Pigs (Three Different Ones). It was amazing.
His pig balloon also said "Obama" when I saw him at Coachella 08.
Yeah, because they continue to want to vote for lawlessness. They want to pretend everything is a cozy college campus and a cute bar in an expensive part of town.edited: everyone can go fuck themselves for what they did to fillersaw this one, something about how libs tried to kill him, so he's going to vote for the guy he's been promoting for weeks in the IP thread

That is a bit more complex. The U.S and Canada are not the same as here. And there can be an argument made that those 'liberal' states were not always liberal, and the foundation for those places my not be as liberal as you think.QuoteThere is no law in liberal states. WHAT
Why are you basing this off of Brazil and not America or Canada?

They are liberal now because of a multitude of reasons and who is to say those places will be the same in the next few decades?? What will San Fran look like in another 20 years with it's rampant homeless people problem?
Read, think, read some more what your values are.
I mean, the idea that people deserve representation, innocent until proven guilty, the idea of inherent rights..these are liberal ideas. Almost every single good movement for progress is liberal. Conservatives routinely fight for the status quo even when they’re in the wrong, historically, time and again. Why does everything have to be all or nothing?
I legitimately, seriously suggest you continue to think about this issue more.
These are conclusions I came to that helped me even approach liberalism again.
I suggest getting a pen and paper writing out what you believe.
Do you believe in democracy and the power of the people having a voice?
Equal rights under law?
Liberty?
Write them down. Read, think, read some more what your values are.

It's like saying if China went all liberal "oh look China is liberal now, they're rich, peaceful, see liberalism works" while ignoring a bunch of other factors.
Instead of Assy we should call him Fashy.
Cindi, I didn't say America was never liberal wtf are you talking about?
But bad history is something that shouldn’t be taken seriously. Saying that America was never liberal is smart dumb af and this is a poor reason to base your political beliefs on.
Read history and philosophy. Read the history of liberalism and what it truly means. Shit, take a college class once you’re back in the states.
lmao this is cuz you got in a hit and run? learn to drive yourself you manchildI wasn't driving you beaky bitch.
Dunno about most of the rambling but one thing i can agree about with Assi is that politics here are a little myopic and naive in regards to how differently people behave im different cultures. Though i suppose everyone here knows that and just trolls him.No, most of them don't.
go fuck yourselves, that's why.

politics here are naive, says the guy who thinks cutting emissions are too hard so we should institute a global sterilization program
Ok, so you're becoming a conservative because the Brazillian shithole is a shithole that nearly killed you. Something you've admitted to in the same post. :doge
This is like Cindy going from Democrat to Republican over the results of the 16 election, but probably worse since your close-call isn't the "come to Jesus" moment you're trying to make it out to be.
Ok, serious question: Are you Brazilian yourself Assy? I need to know this.I already answered this question. I have dual citizenship.
niccaI said "as liberal" as you may think they were. I never said NEVER liberal.
You literally said America was probably never liberal in the first place
It was a joke like i said, get over it.
It's not only about the driver, it's about the road. Again, if you aren't too familiar with the situation here it will be hard for you to understand.
I already answered this question. I have dual citizenship.
for context, assi uses "liberals" interchangeably with "communists" and "the left," and all of that is embodied by some blue-haired tumblr girl who won't fuck himMandark your posts are getting less funny. I still appreciate your efforts though.

For someone that says I’m misrepresenting what you’re saying you sure do that to me a lot.
Great, Mandark now look what you did.
Cindi is going to come out with "all straight dudes wanna bang trans chics with dicks" again.
For someone that says I’m misrepresenting what you’re saying you sure do that to me a lot.
oh stopppppppp you know what you said
Yes, that was on purpose. For someone that says I’m misrepresenting what you’re saying you sure do that to me a lot.
oh stopppppppp you know what you said
I can sense a limp wrist in this post. It’s the long stop. Very gay. I’m proud of you.
Straight men do love trans women though. Only as sex dolls, but they do love them. It’s why trans porn is so popular. And there we have it.
I chat with more than a few trans escort friends and they all say straight men are gay. Their biggest clients are dudes who are married to women pretty much across the board and want to be fucked in the ass. Which is good because paying is the only way he will get that.

Jesus the Bread of Life
25 When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”
26 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”
28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
30 So they asked him, “What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’[c]”
32 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34 “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”
35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
41 At this the Jews there began to grumble about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” 42 They said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, ‘I came down from heaven’?”
43 “Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus answered. 44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’[d] Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me. 46 No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. 47 Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. 57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” 59 He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.
Many Disciples Desert Jesus
60 On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
61 Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! 63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit[e] and life. 64 Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. 65 He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”
66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.
68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”
70 Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” 71 (He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.)
What does that have to do with the left? Are you serious?I vividly recall a Bolsonaro speech in which he said the bridge closing problem was at the top of his agenda.
I’m just going to speak for myself here and note that my comments were specifically reacting to the antisemitism and the comments made by the President. Any comments towards Cindi were a direct response to her self-admitted farcical gun debate thread that spawned from a thread derailment."Glad I have insurance!" would be just as gauche. My point is she jumped straight to talking about her own gun collection as the first response to the news and by her third response was just posting a laughing emoji.
Which isn't even to say she's not empathetic towards the victims, but if she is then she ought to at least understand what a terrible job those posts did of expressing that empathy.
I would say that taking your personal experiences and universalizing them to cover those of all minorities demonstrates some failure in empathy. If all problems had the same solutions there would be far fewer problems.
I commented, despite holding my tongue in prior instances, because this has happened in the past in various threads and has gone on for pages. It’s much more indicative of a larger problem in the media coverage of these events.
Looking forward to Assimilate's upcoming thread "I got my cheeks clapped, today I'm officially a Libertarian!"
These libruls are all too poosy to run a country, go fascism!

is that really surprising though? this is a guy who's so sheltered he has to rely on random bums for rides instead of just getting his own license. hell, he can't even make friends that he doesn't meet through chicks he's seeing, and he's so bad at holding his liquor he even scared them off in like a week :lol he's like a 14 year old in a 45 year olds body. not a shocker that he's shook to the core after a minor car accidentThese libruls are all too poosy to run a country, go fascism!

Honestly, based on his posts here, I bet Assimilate has absolutely no chin whatsoever.Shosh keep using that Google dip shit maybe you'll get somewhere eventually with those mad skills.

It’s okay, it won’t have any place in the future you’re building anywaySometimes assholes shit on pussies, so you need the dicks to fuck the assholes
I don't actually understand the mechanics of how this is supposed to achieve the desired outcome
Congrats on voting correctly in Brazil, though your reasoning is a bit odd.I was already leaning this way if you have been following the international politics thread you'd know. This final incident put the nail in the coffin.
what the hell? i was hoping this was about assy getting bottom beasted by some swarthy latin roadhog. i wanted lurid descriptions of quivering cornflowers in full roadside bloom and hot asphalt love.
fucking ruined my tuesday. where's tvc to shape this thread up.
