Another resetera moderator comes out as a fattie

Delphine, who uses an avatar of a skinny person says

Quote
First, obese people, by a landslide, will never wish obesity and fatness on anybody. I wouldn't wish it even on my worst enemy, considering how much I suffered under systemic fatphobia. How much it made me wanna kill myself over and over and over again throughout my life.

Is being fat a requirement of being a forum moderator?

Pretty crazy how the Trump hating MSM is quickly jumping on the "well actually Iran is bad" train after convincing the world they were part of the #resistance and Climate Rebellion for all but a fortnight.  :snob
Why would this beautiful lady go to Europe. I thought that's where all the refugee hating Nazi's live  ???

You can only blame yourself for being fat. I got tired of being fat, i got tired of feeling like shit, all the health problems caused by obesity are fucking endless. The whole fat acceptance movement is super toxic. I totally get that it's wrong to discriminate and all that, but the whole 'being fat is actually healthy' mindset is super dangerous.

I changed my life around, i changed everything.

140 pounds lost as of today. I feel like a fucking superhero now. So much energy, so much stamina. Everything is better.

But yeah.. it's very hard. It's a total mindset change. Also it's critical to have your doctor and specialists involved, too many people end up listening to internet bozos and they end up fucking up their liver, eyes, etc.

Fat acceptance is terrible. I've lost and kept it off.

The biggest issue is our food ecosystem. It's crap everywhere, so you need to develop new habits--shopping, cooking, ending mindless snacking.  But you're skating uphill at first.

And it takes times.

This is quite the way to start the New Year. Fledgling Overwatch YouTuber SVB is normally known for tutorials and mechanics videos, but out of nowhere decided to drop a video concerning sexism in Overwatch and gaming as a whole. To anyone who is remotely aware of the issue these are not new developments, although you might be interested in the statistics he brings out to entertain the arguments of those who are either ignorant or malicious. Further points go his ability to connect the dots and make a basic intersectional argument, that the act of creating safer spaces for women will de facto create spaces that are safer for men who do not conform to traditionally masculine stereotypes, such as less competitive or more soft-spoken individuals, and LGBT men, who face harassment from a similar well of misogyny.

But the main reason I wanted to highlight this video and why I think it's important is that, by naturally consulting women on the issue, has come to the conclusion that the first and most basic step anyone can do to begin fostering a better community is to simply speak up. I have been a target of both racist and sexist bullshit, as well as intervened on similar occasions where it was another team mate in the hot set. Subsequently I have shouted this to the official Overwatch community proper until I was blue in the face: muting, blocking, and reporting- going through rote channels of contact- does nothing to stem the tide of an issue that is culturally systemic and thus tacitly approved of by the community and even the company at large. Instead, the solution must come from the community itself, and part of a community's toolkit is ostracization. Calling out these players and simultaneously allowing the victims to let them know you're on their side is vital in actually cleaning house and changing the perception that gaming is a space that is only for straight white men.

It is particularly ironic and thus more necessary in games like Overwatch and games like Apex Legends that have followed in the footsteps of its culturally diverse hero format, where the point is that the mix of backgrounds and hero kits is inherently inclusive to a player base of different people. These should be the last games these people are playing, and yet the majority of the reason they are here is because they receive direct or implicit approval of their behavior from the community at large, and it's ridiculous.

So, if you needed a New Year's resolution, here is one to try: If you play online video games with voice chat, and you happen to be put on a team with a sexist asshole, speak up. Denounce the behavior, and reassure the target of the harassment. Let's vow to have a gaming community where the problem element are the assholes and they're the ones who have to mute their mics, not women who simply wanted to have a good time after a long day.

She probably went for an automatic, which increases the price another $2K. Only the SV and SR trims (The top two trims) have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If I had to guess, she probably got talked into the highest trim possible because it's a nicer version of the car, has more safety features and has 'resale value' even though it's a Nissan which eat appreciation values. I'm not even saying that's a wrong choice if you know what you're buying, but the highest trim level puts her over $20k when taxes are added before the interest payments.

Edit: Looks like she did go for the higher trim because the manual and S automatic uses 195 for wheels, and the SV and SR trims uses 205's.

If you're not a car person and don't care what you drive, a new car is a new car. She went from a Lexus ES 350 to a Nissan Versa. Even if the Lexus was 20 years old, the Lexus was still a nicer car unless she just fucked that shit up with no maintenance, smoked, ate in it daily, etc. Nissan actually tried to upscale the Versa a bit and made a nicer car when they released the new version and that's still a big downgrade in terms of size, comfort, etc.

TL:DR: New beat affordability.

That's not what I meant- Maybe something has changed, but the Versa isn't supposed to be that great of a car IIRC- have had them as rentals before and.... :yuck  It's not on best compact car lists and is known for being one of the cheapest new cars you can buy.  Something that doesn't really mean much if you go for the higher-end models.  So for that price, you can get something ranked better and with better reliability ratings.

EDIT: Looks like the 2020 model is better.  But there's still better cars available in that price range.

I agree with everything you said. If I was in a market for a new subcompact car, I'd go for a Fit or Madza 2(marketed as a Toyota Yaris in the U.S.) before the Versa. But if the dealership is a Nissan dealership, that's the connection her stepdad had I guess. She still got mega screwed over because her step dad didn't protect her from a fucked up deal.

I guess I have a couple of crazy Nintendo fan moments when it came to Directs.

There was the September 2018 Direct where I was doing a shift for my College Bookstore at the time and I was getting so antsy about getting off in time to eat and drive to home in time for the Direct that I legitimately stressed myself out and didn't feel good.

Another was the Mario Maker Direct where I had 1 hour to get home from my college but I had to take a bus ride and a 2 mile walk. So after I got off the bus I basically jogged/fast walked to get home in under 40 minutes to make it

What's the biggest error Amazon ever made in your favor?

I ordered a PS Vita Memory Stick and got like 8.

I dropped Hulu after watching the Shield. If I want to watch something specific, I go for that. Otherwise, no need to keep paying for subscriptions I'm not using. I still don't have Disney+ and probably won't until they fix the Simpsons aspect ratio. I share family Netflix and Amazon accounts and that's it.

It's 40 bucks on Amazon, which is why I'm considering it, heh.

Shuri how fucking fat were you if you could lose 140lbs and still be on God's earth
Like me, probably over 300 pounds. I'm 6'4, so people thought I was maybe mid 200s. Nearly 320 at my heaviest and went all the way down to 155 in 2012 (do not recommend).

Some of us are bad at parsing through an extremely long and confusing article about a very long and confusing boondoggle and would like to discuss with others to help clear up the confusion.

Telling someone to just read the article is hardly conducive to good discussion especially in this situation. Different levels of intelligence exist.
Explains the poor reading comprehension on the site. 👀

You're right. I am just very nervous right now. I am a contractor and got an email that another contractor got hired full time today. So it's really making me doubt myself and wonder why I can't be hired. I work very hard and go above and beyond.
