only read the bits you quoted above but does the writer not make a connection between putting all this emphasis and importance on (missionary) sex and the "immorality" of joyless sex? or the occurrence of it?

I was a fan of Glenn Greenwald during the whole NRA scandal. Before then actually. However, my opinion of him changed for a number of reasons, though mainly his attacks on certain people critical of Islam. I have to say though, I am liking him a lot more these days. The main character of the story, Caleb Cain, doesn't actually seem to have been radicalized at all either or even openly political. I did see some dank wads suggesting he was a plant.
