The furry example bothered me too... You don't need to be very sophisticated to get that... furryism (?) ...is obviously for many people an outlet to let go and compensate for a perceived lack of socialisation (affection, kindness, positive interactions) in their alienating everyday normal lives. They're not exactly going out of their way to "assault with kindness" people in normal life either. It's pretty easy to tune it out online & offline unless you're the one seeking furry stuff.
