I just told more of our employees to WFH and we are getting the distance thing working. Still have no idea how to handle our front desk for calls in (1980 phone system can't have calls be picked up off-site) and mail in (lots of checks and things coming in) and mail out (checks and stuff), so we still need a receptionist at least. So if they mandatory office closed/wfh we are gonna have issues, but otherwise I think everyone else can wfh and it'll work.
Our marketing is also a mass mailing campaign and need to use our commercial printer at work to print all the letters & envelopes and have someone stamp and mail them all. Not very wfh and drives a lot of business in, but may have to pause it I guess.
I saw in our county (OC) on Friday they finally released some numbers after the lack of transparency. As of Thursday only 124 people tested in the county total (3.19 million population), and 13 positives including 1 community spread, 1,100 test kits total available.
So basically we have no idea how many people, how spread out it is, who has it, in our community right now because they're not testing hardly anyone!
And everyone was out at packed bars and clubs last night and now newsom closes the bars/clubs -_-
Better than nothing, but we're always behind the bar on this stuff and being reactive instead of proactive. It'll help but we definitely could've saved a lot more lives by doing more sooner.
