Finished my 2nd go last night. My ending:
spoiler (click to show/hide)
I told the emperor Ciri had died. Then I went to a place where I was waiting for a guy with sword for me. I took it to an inn and Ciri was there. The sword was for her. They went on to do more contracts. Since We killed Radovid, his side lost the war. The most prosperous region was the one where that one dude's daughter was given control.

Unfortunately had to step away from Witcher 3 back when I was playing it, but now I'm back.

Don't really care for the alternate movement system. It feels twitchy in a way, I don't like.

Also disappointed, they decided not to do full mod support. This title would have been really big in the modding community in a way that Witcher 2 never was. People were ready for it, but it looks like its no longer going to happen which is a shame.

Still easily, the best game I've played this year or last.

Apparently the total budget for the game was 82 million, which makes way more sense than the 40 million they were saying a little while ago.

Hey Gamers!

Time does fly! These few months since launch passed faster than you can say potestaquisitor. We’ve been hard at work delivering you new content, fixing what needed to be fixed, and secretly plotting how to rock this boat we call the RPG genre even more. We’ve just concluded our shareholder conference where we announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt family got a bit bigger -- we sold over 6 million copies of the game in six weeks since launch. Worry not, I won’t discuss any financial stuff here. I would, however, like to give you some insight on what that means to us as game creators.

One could think we have six million reasons to be happy and that’s it. We do, but that number is also a big responsibility and I want everyone to know that we, as a studio, realize that. For us, all your high praise, all the positive reviews, are also an obligation -- we’ve made a really good game but there’s still a long road ahead of us. Everyone here in CD PROJEKT RED is really attached to their work and how you, the gamers, perceive it. RED is full of artists, wild dreamers and people crazy about what they do (and sometimes just plain crazy). We lose sleep over that particular colour the sun has when it sets over Velen, and argue over arranging the furniture in a house the majority of gamers will probably never see. We’re not the kind of people who are easily satisfied and we always strive for more. I’d like you to know that.

Yes, six million copies is a great achievement for a company making RPGs, but this business is not only about that. If our games are a gallery of sound, picture and text - you are the visitors of this gallery. To an artist, there’s no sweeter sight than people enjoying their work. That’s why, in the name of all the devs in the studio, I’d like to say thanks to each and every one of you.
Thanks!

Adam Badowski,
Head of Studio
CD PROJEKT RED

I'm still chipping my way through this. As far as I can see I've burned through all the major side content and any side quests I have left are too low level to be relevant. So now I'm pushing to the end. Just found the Sunstone and I assume I'm a few quests from the finale.

I might go through and visit all the question marks. I have most of Velen finished in that regard and a bunch of sea locations to find.

I might actually finish this right when the first expansion comes out, which would be pretty cool

The expansion is quite a bit more difficult than the main game. Appreciate them ramping up the difficulty for more experienced players, unfortunately the first boss battle has shitty hitboxes and expose the sluggish nature of Gearalt's controls.

Spent an hour with the expansion so far. Didn't know they were going to add runewords. :leon Quite the money sink, too. So now that I am poor and relatively weak again I've gone back to question mark hunting and am enjoying it just as much as I was. This goddamn game, people. So good.

On the negative side, I've just found a diagram for a level 47 item, a sword I believe. I just hit level 35, almost at 36 but I kind of doubt I will hit 47. They have got to be taking the piss with these.

^  Fire bombs, Dragon's Dream I think they're called? The ones that explode on impact. Trivializes the fight, even on Death March.
Speaking of, there's a fight that just plain sucks, but only if you play on Death March. One-hit-kill nonsense, even with good armour and all sorts of potion buffs and the enemy's HP is inflated beyond reason. Was more difficult than Eredin until I finally caved and turned the difficulty down.

Anyway, I finished this today, even though I wanted to take my time and stretch it out. Pretty good, though obviously overshadowed by the main game content. The production values are on par, but the content can't hold a candle to the Bloody Baron questline. However there were some nice ideas in there, including something cribbed from Oblivion.

I fully upgraded the enchanter (30k all told, I think), but most of his runewords don't seem worth the investment, unless there's an OP interaction I'm missing (there probably is). I just put the runeword into my armour that casts Qwen when combat begins, since that's what I'm doing anyway, as well as one in my swords that makes them retain the grindstone buff indefinitely. Boring choices, but the other interactions are sign heavy and I barely use signs.

You can also get some nice gear, including a Viper set and matching swords (that are upgrades on the ones you find in White Orchard), though I'm a level below the requirement, of course... I went from 35 to 38 doing everything there was to do. The scaling is so agressive the 34 mobs it adds here or there gave shit XP halfway through. I don't want to New Game+ just to use the stuff I find. This aspect of the game sucks so much. :goty2 There's probably a mod that rips the level requirements out entirely, which is what I will probably use for the next expansion.

Finished up Heart of Stone. Loved it. A healthy chunk of content with plenty of variety, Cool new characters and interesting story beats.

I'm angry tho because I found the full Viper armor set diagrams but I need to be 39 to wear it. I'm sitting on 38.5 with no new side quests. So I guess I'll be waiting for the next expansion.
