I came to terms long ago with being a selfish creature in lots and lots of ways.  In the end, not only is it more considerate for me not to see people, but it is, in the long term, more considerate to the person that I would be trying to have a relationship with.  In the end, I am just happier alone.  I value my personal freedom above all else.
