sorta...
there's no AI controlled Pilots, which are what humans play as, but there are all sorts of AI controlled grunts/spectres, including snipers, anti-titan and such and all the titans have rather smart AI. Frontier Defense shows this off as humans vs. swarms of AI titans, grunts, spectres, etc. but there's no opposing Pilots.
I imagine the Pilots mobility, climbing walls, etc. is why there's no AI versions of them. Everything using the AI was ground bound and navigated the basic map, not all the traversal. 2 might add them though, who knows. Or a more advanced bot class that has some of the capabilities.
The campaign in the original was literally just playing the multiplayer maps in a certain order with cutscenes before and after the match, like Brink did. IIRC, this one is supposed to be more of a hybrid between that and a traditional CoD campaign. Maybe something like Bad Company 2, which reused the multiplayer maps as sections of the single player levels, but altered them, added objectives, added connecting areas, etc.
