Yeah, I don't care much for the flashy stuff. You want fireworks go to the piano or organ, guitar is all about expressiveness (to be fair the third piece is pretty flashy in the third movement) As to the story. Nope didn't dream it. It's the villa lobos etudes 1-12. He had written them for Segovia and Segovia said they were impossible and unplayable. So villa lobos spent a year practicing in secret. Then the next year when Segovia came over for a dinner with his friends afterwards Villa Lobos pulled out a guitar and played all 12 of them in front of Segovia and his friends with I can only imagine is the biggest "F U" face. After that Segovia recorded a few (though I don't know if he ever played all of them) Here's all of them here:VIDEO I had to learn all these in college (if you're going to be a performance major you practically have to) None of them are easy (although 1 and 11 can be done with relative ease comparatively which is why you always hear these) My favorite though is 12:VIDEO I still have nightmares about #10.VIDEO
