on one hand it doesn't feel like older cartoons ever really humanized the animals like the 80-90's shows did. I can almost see someone arguing the point.
on the other hand there has likely been animated furry bullshit for over 100 years but it never became a thing until the fucking internet. I am sure large cities had weirdo clubs but nothing like what we have today.
