I was going to say that when I crossed 315, I lost my shit. I couldn't believe I let myself go that far and I tried a dozen different things to lose weight. I still think I'm fat, and I think I'm huge in general. Of course, I can't really see myself outside of my own head. I feel normal-sized, but I'm ~6'1 and 280lbs.

I've been overweight for almost my entire life, so my "bottom" is different than yours. I just felt I needed to make a positive change - now - when it's possible. I know it gets harder as I get older.

Ever considered a gastric bypass?

No. From what I've heard, that's a pretty brutal procedure with some long-term consequences. I am losing weight and I'll just continue eating healthy and exercising. I'll be up and atom to get my butt whooped tomorrow and carry on with my cardio/gym work.

The key is to not get crazy. Like, I went tonight, but I didn't go overboard or buy popcorn/snacks at the theater. Although - and this is pretty funny - The Green Turtle allows you to substitute apple slices for fries, so I did so, and they bring them out in the most ridiculous, kindergarten-looking bag ever made for school lunches.

I'm not planning, I'm doing. I work out multiple times a week, and my eating habits are completely different nowadays. This isn't a short-term scenario, it's how I plan on living here on out.

Well according to the BMI calculator I used, when I entered 5'11" for hight/ 340lb for weight, I got 47; maybe I did something wrong.

If BMI is what calculates body fat percentage, then my father uses some electrical device to get an exact measurement - and that's the number I use.

And I'm with you on that one Willco. Really, people make a huge deal about diet foods and all this shit. Really, the healthiest way to eat is: home-cook your food and eat only when you're hungry. My problem was that I'd eat when I was bored or when I wanted to taste (which is the case recently, and I've plateaued because of it), but once you break that habit, it's impossible for you to try and eat the portions you found yourself swallowing with ease. And if you try anyways, your body rightfully punishes you by way of stomach-aches, etc.

I've been overweight my whole life too, and it didn't only take its toll on my body, my teeth got fucked up. Before dropping $7000 into my mouth, I had 14 cavities.

And I know that you're doing, man (Keep it up). I was just referring to the people who start their diets and fitness regimens, lose tens of pounds, go back to their old habits then gain all the weight back and then a dozen pounds more.

A lot of people go through that cycle, and that's what you should avoid. Either way, best of luck, man.

Loosing weight is easy by the way, don't know if you're interested or not, but even for health reasons man. The hard part is the is gonna be the skin, at your age you will have to work out.

You can do it in a year, i know it sounds like a lot of time, but you will lose most of the weight in the first 4 or 5 months, and that will keep you very motivated.

If you live alone, it's the easiest shit, just don't buy bad food, so when you are on your pc or watching a movie whatever, you won't be going back and forth to the kitchen because of them cookies.

Stop eating bread and cakes too.

My weight has stayed pretty much exactly the same +/- 5 pounds for the last eight years. I never get skinny enough to really have the ripped abs, I'd like, but I never put on enough weight to get an actual belly. Even when I work out a lot and run every day, I still never lose those last five pounds, although I came close last summer after a month in China, Mongolia and Russia.
