On one hand, removing statues and corporate logos is the kind of fake progress that America thrives on. It does nothing to really change the systemic racism that allowed those things to exist in the first place. So, if you came at it from that angle, I would understand your derision of it.
On the other hand, there needs to be a reckoning in America. We've deified our past in an effort to give a young country a sense of shared history so we wouldn't fray into 10 different parts during crisis. That's why all these problematic statues, logos, flags, practices were allowed to exist for so long. Keep this leaky ship afloat. But that deification is now working against us from allowing us to change into a modern society. It's become a quicksand that keeps sucking us back under.
So maybe pushing over a Washington statue and being okay with it is a baby step in ending those mental shackles.
