No disrespect, Cheebs...but this place is in dire need of a user boost.  There are endless 'small' gaming forums out there.  There is no reason this place can't exist somewhere between GAF and OA.

I agree.  The racism is the thorn in OA's side, and those who stand up for it under the guise of 'free speech' are the exact users you don't want coming to EB.

I don't know what the hell is going on at OA.  I mean, there have been several times in the past that the board was getting shut down, and everything continued on as normal.  But this time seems different, especially with Saint getting deleted and everything.  It's kind of sad, really.

I don't know if we've had a "mess" other than Catalyst, which when all was said and done, was more entertaining than anything else.

There are a few people that are completely blacklisted - like olimario. We don't need him here.

We are pretty generous in letting people in, regardless of past behavior in hopes they set themselves straight.  I remember how horribly offended people were when Jotaro was approved - but he has been on good behavior.

So I haven't been following OA.

Someone care to explain what happened?

Did Mina change usernames to Serafitia? It is the same Serafitia that posts at GAF, or was it just a name change?

Why is Mina shutting the forum down? Why exactly did Corny get banned?

It's really all about this:

Mina:
But seriously, I'm gonna wreck havoc before it all goes away.

I play and fight with people...but you can always tell when I genuinely don't like someone because I will never interact with them.  He/she is one of those people.  I hate when people abuse their power.  As far as I can tell, that's all he/she ever does.

I don't know if that place is really going away or not - but I kind of hope it does. I'm tired of reading people going on about the "good ol' easyboard days"  Next!

"Mina" has been claiming that OA is JUST ABOUT to shut down for YEARS now. "She" made a new thread about how OA has 8 days left. I called "her" on "her" bullshit, and went so far to make a new thread saying I would be happy when OA gets the plug pulled. A couple of stupid morons, like Anthony, tried to make me look like a whiner who needs to go somewhere else, when the whole POINT was to expose just how much the OA administration doesn't give a shit about their community. This went on and on, then I went outside to make a phone call... when I came back, my account was deleted and my thread was merged into "her" thread. I logged in with my other account, made the exact same thread as I did before... and in like seconds, it was deleted too.

Mina is "Mina". "She" changed her name to "serafitita" but it's still "Mina". "She" is one crazy dude.

I don't know why "Mina" is shutting the forum down; plenty of people have offered to host, with Demi being the most reliable one offering - but to no avail.

And that am the saga of Corny vs. OA

You admitted you haven't been at OA long; so with that, please don't talk of power abuse when you don't have the slighest clue as to what you're talking about.  K?  Do I believe Saint Corn should have been unregistered?  No, of course not, but his actions were certainly ban worthy and I'm not sure why he's so anxious to relive the life of the teenager who constantly challenges authority on a daily basis for shits and giggles.

Moreover, speaking as a prior OA admin and one of the facilitators who built the current OA we're speaking of, sometimes a swift ban is the only recourse to whip the horde back into order.  I've done it many a time, as have Hans, Teddman, DirtyMack and other admins.  It's not "power abuse" when someone is content to push buttons 24/7; it's a break.  You may not like it, but OA has never been about total and complete free reign.  That's why there's a tug of war between the older and newer members.  The older members regularly banned people who contributed pure garbage to the forum without so much of a protest, now however, it literally takes a UN resolution to even consider banning a person who has spammed the board.
