AGE is pretty alright, and it's definitely better right now then some of the shitty Gundams. Hell I don't even care for Unicorn much and think it's a really stupid series outside the awesome mecha and animation.

However I don't want to see a Gundam aimed at toddlers succeed. They can make SD Gundam shows for those kids. Gundam should at be for teens-adults.

Toddlers? Huh? Have you actually seen shows aimed at toddlers? AGE is aimed at teens/pre-teens. Always has been. You don't have to like it and continue being critical of it as you've been in the past, but I thought you were better than the "kiddy lolz" defense, man.

Uh, even now in AGE2 where it's a little more grown up, it's still the most kiddy Gundam ever that is not SD Gundam or Gunpla Builders. I like the show, but it's aimed at a very younger audience. No dark gritty war violence.

When I think of toddlers, I think of subject material like Doraemon and Anpanman in Japan, and Dora the Explorer, Thomas the Tank Engine, Bob the Builder and Cars in the States. Not a show filled with giant robots, a ship captain obsessed with avenging the death of his wife who ends up killing a little kid's father and then telling the kid right to his face what he did, and the chosen teenager who watches his spiritual soul mate murdered before his eyes, driving him to revenge-filled madness and more than likely being a shitty dad to his son.

I've liked all the OP/EDs so far. For me, OP1 and ED2 take the cake.

The first half of this episode was so sappy I thought I was watching a show on how maple syrup is made.

But it was good overall. Predictable for the most part, but man, they totally nailed the music during the confrontation. Grade A stuff.

Is it a rule that every girl love interest has to be so useless? I mean, this is Gundam, but still... It actually made me want a main girl piloting a Gundam. Or even a good side character. The most recent girl pilot was Nina, who was annoying and bratty to the billionth degree.

Just thinking out loud. As a reminder I've liked this series from the start.

AGE2 is getting better but it all comes down to the payoff.

Women in Gundam do nothing except kill other women in mecha catfights and walk around as lolis or boobs or lovers/sisters/daughters/mothers unless they are Haman. Haman was badass, intelligent, and cool. Diana Counter was a solid female as well though she didn't do much other than get captured a lot. Lacus was decent as a ship captain but she suffers from the same lol character -> jesus transformation that Kira does in SEED. Generally though, you can tell Gundam is made entirely by men for a male audience, lol.

And her first strategy or comeback in season 2 is still the best.

They did in season 2 where they realized huge boobs don't cut it anymore in Gundam and made Tieria Erde a woman...or a trap, whatever it was.

Caught up on AGE. AGE2 is not bad, it feels like a real gundam show just aimed at a slightly younger audience. If they had started with this AGE it probably wouldn't be the total bomba it is. This is basically SEED for a younger generation.

We're even at the EMO LEAD part.

But there are things the show is doing that keeps it interesting, like the father/son ideology drama and how the friend drama plays into that. I probably give Hino too much credit since through every game he's written and AGE, it seems like he's not a particular good writer and has about as much depth as an ice rink, but it could be interesting if Flit is the DESTROY ALL VEGANS and Asemu because the LET'S WORK TOGETHER THROUGH PEACE old man in AGE3. In fact I totally see Earth people and VEGAN's working together in AGE3 against the TRUE BAD GUY; especially if Asemu and Zehart are the respective leaders of both. Old Zehart could make a good CCA Char.

And I'm pretty sure Flit is gonna die in AGE2. Otherwise he'd just die in the timegap and it's less effective for drama than having him blow up on screen in some sacrificial moment or something.

Glad to see Wolf finally kill an enemy. My main problem with AGE at this point besides the usual anime tropes is that it's one of those Gundam shows where every freaking pilot on the protagonists side is absolutely useless and will never kill a single real enemy and so it's entirely up to the Gundam(s) to kill every named enemy grunt in the show. I also hate how both sides tend to slice off arms and legs and not kill their enemy unless it's needed for dramatic story scenes most of the time. Just comes off as goofy, especially with the crazy psycho villains who take forever to kill the federation grunts.

At least they sort of explained why Desil looks and acts mentally disabled in this season. Would like to see Asemu get brain damaged. If Hino had any balls to make an adult show he's do the end of Zeta in the middle of this arc and Asemu would go in a coma from brain damage and wake up in the final battle to come back.

Anyhow I think the spy is Woolf. He's the person you'd never expect, he came from "cold sleep" and he tends to help the enemy sometimes like in the ep a few eps back where Asemu was charging in at Zehart for the kill and Woolf instead of shooting Zehart in a support attack with Asemu, shot in the middle between the two of them to break up the fight. Plus he looks kind of like he could be Zehart's dad.
