Just saw the last episode of Mad Men Season 4. I didn't like the fourth season that much when I started watching it but then it got better and better. The final was disappointing however. Megan seems like the type of women Draper gets by the dozend and he stills falls for such a golddigger? I mean, I get that he has this trauma with his childhood and therefore desperatly wants to have some kind of ideal world family, but it just doesn't feel believable that he falls for Megan just because she doesn't freak out over a spilled milkshake.
Doesn't help that I really liked Faye and them as a couple. Ah well, bring on season 5.
Watch it over again.
There's a scene earlier in the series where Sally or Bobby spills milk or a milkshake or something and Betty fucking freaks. It tells how she responds to crisis and especially children.
Megan not only was totally cool with the milkshake, she was helpful throughout the entire season. The way she helped him out when he was drunk, how she helped Sally when she skipped school and brought her to Don's apartment and kept her company? And I see no proof that she's a gold digger.
Faye, however, isn't good with children.
This is important to Don because his children are one of the few things he cherishes, and they need a mother. A good one. Don is doing it not only for himself (stability) but also his children, notably Sally.
