You can get all five episodes of Tales of Monkey Island today for FIVE DOLLARS. That's 86% off the regular price. It's definitely worth it, so make sure to get it if you haven't already.

I thought the demo was pretty boring.  Plus it reminded me a bit of Cryostatis and I'm not a fan of that game.

It was actually $12 a long time ago from THQs site, then you could register the code with Steam since it is a steamworks title.

I liked the little bit of Metro I played but it needs a faaaar better rig than mine to play properly so I'm waiting another year or two until I get a new card.  If you can only play the game on medium it's not worth playing.  High and above look amazing.

Also MLB 2k10 is $2; I'm passing because I always hear MLB 2k series sucks.
NBA2k10 was $2 for about 2 hours and then it went back up to $20 :(  Too bad because I'd get it at $2.

I think Darksiders is the RF:G porters, which is why it runs well too.

Red Faction Guerilla was a small outfit called Reactor Zero, Saint's Row 2 was done in-house at Volition [which makes it even stranger, I suppose]. Darksiders was done in-house by Vigil Games.

You'd think they just decide on someone already, lol.

At least 2 of the 3 ports are good.  Although RF:G port is a tad bit better than Darksiders in performance and options.

Hmm, I heard good things when this was out.  Something like this was one of the best non-bioware wrpgs along with the Witcher.  Was waiting for it to get cheap before jumping on.  $15 ain't bad at all.

DRM Sucks, but as long as I'm carefully I'll probably not get screwed by that.  Plus if I do, I will not be hesitant to look around the seedier side of the internet to find a way to play this game I have legitimately purchased.

Get Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga instead.

Risen is decent, but not really all that great.

Apparently you get 1 activation back every month and a half for Risen.  That's not bad.  I'll probably pick it up for $15 and throw it in the wrpg backlog with The Witcher, Dragon Age, and Jade Empire.

Download the Risen demo before you buy it blindly.  I'm not gonna make the same mistake I did with The Witcher... waste of $20.  That game has the worst combat I've ever experienced in an WRPG.  It's only lauded so highly because it's PC exclusive.

Risen demo link: http://news.bigdownload.com/2009/10/01/download-risen-demo/  Gonna try it after work and post impressions.

who to believe :(

A lot of wrpg fans say Risen is top-quality wrpg like the Witcher.  Great combat, great world to explore, good challenge, good graphics/voice work.
Yet a lot of wrpg fans say the game sucks, or is good early on and then gets boring or is boring early on and then gets good after 20 hours.

There apparently is no consensus on this game!  ^^;

-Graphics are pretty good
-Voice work is decent, not great
-Island has some interesting secret places to find, but is fairly small and not particularly varied
-Combat is really meh, until you get the last level of the [sword] combat skill and it start to finally become bareable

The main draw here is that it has a good number of quests and sidequests that are reasonably well done, but it's NOT a great WRPG.
