My favorite Wu-affiliate album is still La The Darkman's Heist of the Century with Killarmy's Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars as a close second.

Those + Heavy Mental from Priest and Last Shall Be First from Sunz of Man had that second Wu wave looking serious for a second  :whew

Since we're on the subject of Wu, did yall peep Killah Priest's double album from last year?

Great fucking album for a double disc. Surprisingly little filler

I really really liked it.  I kept pushing it here, but I don't think it ever got any traction with all of the other monster releases of last year.

He just put out a new mixtape but I wasn't into it as much was I was Psychic World

I liked the Walter Reed album as much as you can like a double album in 2014, but hey.

speaking of horrorcore, i always thought it sucked ass but Brotha Lynch Hung and Gravediggaz were alright.

I remember how hard brehs were trying to push Necro :beli

I'm just glad he had the sense enough to drop instrumental albums. Even as a teen getting my feet wet in the white waters of hiphop, his rhymes were funny for about 5 minutes then  :trash

That all new Cap cover is a nightmare

Caught Flylo a few days ago, if you have the chance to see him I'd recommend it even if you didn't like You're Dead!. Spreads his material out really nicely and has the coolest stage setup I've ever seen. Complete 3D projections. Second time I've seen him since he started it and it's still mind blowing. Get dead center and up front.

http://instagram.com/p/vZfcyQKOC7/ <-- example

He also played a fucking awful Chance remix of Ready Err Not that has ready to give up on this dudes career entirely. When was the last decent Chance drop, like over a year ago? Eeh.

Loving this album almost a bit too much. Also really feeling this, I've been bandcamping really hard brehs, no Needledrop.

Following a two year hiatus, the South Carolina emcee returned this past July with "Get it Wrong", and proceeded to follow up with two equally dope singles in "The Lomax" and "You."

Now, with production Sango, Eric Dingus, Black Dave and others providing production, the Blu Roc Records affiliate delivers his first project under his new alias.

Kendrick lost. I always feared this happening; as he searched for an artistic identity he'd fall into the clutches of Andre 3k/Janelle Monae twee artiste cornballery without a persona to use.

Alright, yup. He clearly lost his goddamn mind there. What the holy shit. He knows goddamn well he ain't sweating that much in Nov in NYC. Why the Crisco, KDot. Why the half Lupe hairdo.

Why.

I sounds better live; the studio version is really straight forward interpolation outside of the bass whereas the three times I've heard it live it actually sounds funky and dirty. It's the type of record they should have jammed for awhile, letting the track and energy take them into different directions...and then taking that into the final version. Getting Questlove in on the session would have helped in that regard.

That's the worst part. It's all a gimmick. Kendrick got too much hype for being an "important" rapper with something to say rather than just a dope rapper who tells stories vividly/impactfully. People expect him to be something more than that, a "real artist" (because hip-hop could never be "real" artistry in its own right). A real artist doesn't listen to modern music. A real artist only appreciates the classics. A real artist uses a live band. A real artist has a message that moves people. A real artist has deep, meaningful performances. Now he's trying to live up to that.

Man, Kendrick doesn't have the chops for the real artist life. Dude looks like a 15 year old acting out during a talent show, low key trying to impress adults with how smart and considered he is. It's borderline ICP affiliate rapper shit. He looks like Shia LaBeouf out there.

You want to know what an L is? Lasers. Sideline Story. I know what the build up to those Ls looks like, and I don't see it here. I remember loving FNL (which I still think is better than Kanye's Dark Fantasy, fuck it) but thinking man...he literally wasted all these tracks on a mixtape. And lo and behold barely any of the tracks on the album matched the best or even above average stuff on that tape.

I remember Lupe descending into madness brehs. I saw that shit. Trolls aside the dude's first two albums are pretty much hate-proof. But I had a feeling something was wrong when those leaks and first singles came out, plus the label tension.

At worse, Kendrick has released a single that wouldn't even be the worst song on GKMC; and if you want to say I Love Myself is worse than Real take your trolls elsewhere. I don't care about SNL, or videos, or tweets, whatever. That album is gonna be dope - I doubt it'll match GKMC but so far Kendrick's track record is pretty spotless (and I'm not even a big OD fan).

Last time I doubted someone who didn't deserve to be doubted: Roc Marciano brehs
. I remember when the Reloaded snippets came out, plus learning that some of the best leaks (My Persona) wasn't going to be on the album. I heard those snippets and lost faith. Then the god's album dropped and crushed the building.

I was a little disappointed with that. Gibbs has been one of my favorites for a few years and I really like Mike Dean's discography, but this just doesn't click for me. Both the beat and Gibbs are kinda snoozeworthy compared to their recent efforts.
