The completely unreliable 4chan rumor mill is abuzz with possible GC game announcements (F-Zero, WW, TP, Prime). Supposedly gonna happen in October. On the off chance it's true, fucking Mega64 called it again.
Could be, it was always a matter of time before they ported over WW and TP.
Prime I have my doubts about. On a podcast one of the former Retro Studios devs explained that it was easy to port Prime 1 -3 over to the Wii because the architecture was nearly the same as the GameCube.
He said that he had doubts that the work to bring over those games to the Switch would be doable let alone worth it without a big loss in visual effects (some effects were already missing from the Trilogy re-release).
F-Zero GX seems like another difficult game to remaster with the FMV's and all but Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio did release a Monkey Ball remaster so maybe they were able to expand on that as I recall Monkey Ball 2 and F-Zero GX used the same engine back in the day.
As for release dates, Splatoon 3 is coming out in September, Mario + Rabbits drops October along with Bayonetta 3. That leaves Pokemon in November and Advance Wars 1+2 still without a release date.
I expect 1 or 2 additional games to drop this year and new Switch games to drop at a regular pace well into 2023. The follow-up to the Switch probably won't release until 2024 at this point.
2023 is probably going to be a big year if Nintendo drops a new Fire Emblem (Q2), Metroid Prime 4 (Q3), Mario Odyssey 2 and Zelda BOTW2 (Q4).
In between those releases there could be anything from an F-Zero GX remaster to Splatoon 3 and Xenoblade 3 DLC.
