Well we spoke of Gainax. Seems they're in trouble.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1396314

Quote
Last year, Hideaki Anno’s Studio Khara sued Gainax of Evangelion fame for unpaid royalities. A Tokyo District court has ruled in Anno’s favor, with a judge ordering Gainax to pay the full 100 million yen (around US$900,000).

Quote
As previously reported, Gainax is contractually bound to pay royalties to Khara for projects Anno worked on, but Gainax owned a large amount in back payments. Moreover, Khara made a special loan to Gainax for 100 million yen ($898,796) in August 2014 and is now suing to get the unpaid amount back.

I guess it's all fair really. And I mean quite a bit of the talent transitioned to Khara. The pity is that Khara isn't doing much with all this... not even  New Movie Evangelion 4  :doge .

They're also moving forward with a sequel/spiritual successor to Wings of Honneamise, with a reported budget of $40 million. For perspective, Ghibli movies are generally among the most expensive anime movies [and most financially successful] and only a few of them have been that expensive.

And Trigger is the true successor to Gainax, not Khara.

Also you're either the type that "gets" E7 or you're going to fucking hate it. There's no middle ground with that show. :lol
How can people hate E7? That shit is fuckin awesome. A globetrotting ship crew with a penchant for rebellion and they have surfing robots. What more could you want? Then they go fuck it up with a sequel.

Last Exile is also great. A globetrotting ship crew with a penchant for rebellion and they have steampunk planes. What more could you want? Then they go fuck it up with a sequel.

Finished up The Saga of Tanya the Evil from last season. It's quite a thing, unfortunately the ending kinda whiffs [mostly because it's still an on-going story], although at least it fits in with the overall theme of the series which is that God is not to be trifled with. Still, it's one of the best and most interesting series from the previous season, with some pretty solid animation from a studio working on its very first project. Would definitely watch a season 2 if that happened.

Watched a little Gundam Wing last night on Crunchyroll for the first time in probably 15 years. Still holds up really well: cool Gundam designs, cold-as-ice mofo Heero Yuy, Zechs Merquise, good animation, great music. :bow 1995 :bow2

I don't dislike DBZ at all, it drags on some of the arcs they talk too much leading up to fights,  Goku running on snake way etc. I find Super better in this regard I'm not sure how long per arc they are compared to DBZ arcs but it felt like they were shorter and less of a chore to watch.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
DBZ fights themselves are better coreographed, what happened in Super?  :doge

This is the key question.

It's great from the get-go, but I would say it only ascends to god-tier territory with the Yorknew City arc which starts at episode 37. Heavens Arena right before it has some really dope moments though, and is absolutely required viewing to understand the rest of the series.

Yorknew is also the best arc in the show, but I feel the following three arcs are about the same in quality and better than what came before Yorknew.

Chimera Ant arc is pretty divisive but if you love it, you fucking love it.
