Just found out that my dad is running a fever. I work with him and I'm around my parents all the time, so if he's got it, I've probably got it too. It'll probably be a couple of days before he can get tested [unless he gets sick enough to need to go to the emergency room] and a few more days for test results, so the family is on lockdown for the about the next week regardless.

Clinic said Dad probably didn't have the rona, just an ordinary sinus/ear infection, so they gave him some meds. Hopefully that's all it is, but I'm pushing him to get a test regardless.

A conspiracy I'm hearing is the high case numbers released by FL this past week were backlogged. ie, confirmed cases the state was sitting on.

This week we'll see a lower number of cases reported, in order to support the state gov decision to reopen. Then we'll see more "backlogged" numbers come in the week after that.

What's the consensus on face coverings right now? I've got a (K)N-95 mask but I like how stylish the black fabric ones are. However I'm worried that the material isn't even actually protective. Am I fine as long as it's preventing water droplets from coming in? Or should I stick with the one I have?

I've been rewashing my "reusable" n95 but based on some googles it seems like that actually reduces the filtration of it so I'm probably totally exposed anyway.

It’s all about the viral load. Anything you can do to decrease your exposure when you come in contact with someone infected is going to significantly decrease your odds of acquiring it.

A good example was that one where two Great Clips stylists were infected for a few days and they cut 60+ people in that time. None of the clients got sick because they were all masked up. I’m sure the masks used were a wide variety of materials and styles.

Ontario had our first bad day in a while, 257+, but 177 are in Windsor Essex and mostly due to a  farm outbreak.

Saskatchewan, has small numbers but has had two of these large outbreaks, which is why it's in its third wave

Nah, keep on posting them. It's good to see where other areas are dealing with the novel coronavirus. The U.S. needs to see that it's not a special condition and this situation was unavoidable. My antigen Covid test result was negative, my dad is still stable and mom still has no symptoms. One of our main office employees who had the most contact with the employee who tested positive through daily chit chat conversations got his test results today and was negative. So far so good.

If our other employees tests come back negative, it'll make it most likely that my dad and the employee who tested positive both got it from elsewhere around the same time just because it's out there so much and it wouldn't have traveled through our office since my dad had basically no interaction with that employee.

So I talked to my dad and he tells me that the OC Health Agency called him and told him that even if he's sick and sneezing and coughing that if he doesn't have a fever by day 10, then he's not contagious anymore and he can resume normal life stuff out and about.

I feel like these health agencies don't know what they're doing? This doesn't seem right to me.


Also apparently his main issues right now are in his sinuses like he has a real bad sinus infection, which is also weird because all the covid stuff seems to be throat and below and not upper sinus. He's a dumb "tough guy" about going to the ER/hospital and so he's just trying to find some ENT that will get him in and see him and give him some stuff to help with the sinus pain and pressure.
