Yeah I don't see how after all that you come to that conclusion. Like I could see one do so if they catch it, but their experience is one of "I felt sick for 3 days. Didn't feel too great, but just waited it out in bed and voila."

But this guy was not too many steps away from death and yet that's his great takeaway.

I feel pretty bad for these athletes. They work really had to get a chance to play while their in their prime then they either have the option of not playing and risk various consequences like aging out or being black listed if they prioritize their health or they can play in an unsafe environment and get so unhealthy they can't play for life. I mean sure this is standard in the NLF when it comes to concussions but at least concussions are not contagious.

So it looks like the US did in fact peak on July 24, which just so happens to be shortly after July 4. Deaths peaked a week later, on July 30.

We should be down to 30k daily soon, which puts us at....the April peak. Deaths are still around 1k daily though.

Cuomo fucked up big time with the nursing home situation, but the rest of his leadership was very good. NY got on the mask mandates pretty early, shutdown hardcore for April, free drive-through testing sites were made available quickly (and service workers like haircutters, nail salon workers, all were encouraged to get testing at least once every 2 weeks), and then things gradually reopened in a controlled manner. Non-NYC NY has indoor dining (at reduced capacity) and now even has gyms open (also at reduced capacity) but I'm fine eating outside for now.
