Quote
WWE is in the midst of one of the most eventful weeks in years – and the company’s existing storyline plans through WrestleMania could be scrapped entirely by Friday night.

WWE has called for all-day creative meetings on Thursday and Friday, according to a report by Wade Keller of PWTorch.com. A source says that “nothing is sacred” in terms of long-standing booking plans plans and “everything will be reevaluated.”

The roller coaster ride began on Sunday night when it became apparent to fans that Daniel Bryan would not be part of the Royal Rumble match. The strong negativereaction to Batista winning the Rumble, Daniel Bryan’s continuing popularity growth and the shocking departure of CM Punk from the company are all being cited as reasons for the shakeup.

We’ll have more details on this story later in the week, but it appears that things are going to get even more interesting by the time the week is over.

I envision that being all the writers sitting around, coming up with ideas, and ultimately after two days, Vince just goes "Nah.  Keep everything as is" and walks off.

So a few days later it dawns on them that the reaction for their build to 'mania shouldn't be 'the fuck are you guys doing?' finally. Wonder what if any alterations will occur.

I didn't watch Raw last night. But reading Raw results gives me solace that I didn't. Their response to being without Cena (injured), Punk (quit), and more is to put Daniel Bryan in with a Mania feud with Kane? I'm just tired of it. Thanks for giving me all the reason to dump you, WWE. I was going to wait till after Wrestlemania to see what they do with the storylines going forward but reading the Raw results shows this much: jack shit. I'm done. I'll only be watching NXT and  New Japan going forward. Time to put more time into watching soccer with WWE out of the way.

Elimination Chamber PPV tonight.  Seems to feel even more sandwiched inbetween the Rumble and Mania than usual this time around.

Is there a Bore IRC channel you guys used last time?

It's lunchtime. Watching Wrestlemania 1. Yeap. I didn't grow up during the Golden Era. Seems stupid to have access to all this and not experience it for the first time. After this I'm going to go in order. What do I watch after WM1? WM2? Is there a good ppv order I should follow?

Why don't you just go through all the PPVs chronologically?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WWE_pay-per-view_events

Signed up for the free trial, checking out some of the old footage they have. Some of it looks great, but a few of the ones I've checked out (old ECW TV episodes from 1993) look kinda eh but I suppose that's from the best source they'll ever have.

This app is fantastic. The amount of content is wow. It really is the first all digital channel too. They have a set schedule throughout the day just like a regular TV network. It is bad ass. Who is watching Wrestlemania Rewind tonight after Raw? The after show Backstage Pass is going to be the first real test for the network since Hogan is going to tell people to tune in after Raw tonight. We will see how bad things get. Today it has been pretty good on mobile, pc, and on ps3 for launch day.

WWE sticking it to cable providers. Imagine if some channel like HBO did this and had a 24/7 digital network with its own schedule. Fuck. This is the future guys.

Major sports having been doing this for years.

They're not sticking it to cable providers, they couldn't make a deal for a cable station which is why they're going this method.

Loved watching the Golden era stuff tonight. Going to make a large review tomorrow.

Problem is, I have no idea about storylines. They aren't covering the storylines at all yet. So having access to the ppvs while great, makes for a sort of disjointed experience. Do they eventually start narrating the events that have lead up to the ppvs for people who missed them? That'd really help.

You get far enough back and the stories developed a lot slower, and not necessarily on regularly broadcast television.  So for the relatively recent stuff they could just recycle the montages they put together at the time to hype the PPV, but going back to the super early WM's?  Might want to check out Wikipedia or some other online resources if you're looking to get background on the feuds and stuff.

Emma is fantastic.

But it's weird to me that they called her up over Paige who they gave the title to and all that. I guess they assume Paige will be a heel and feel there can't be more than one major female heel?

Hmm.

With the help of wikipedia and youtube, one can get a damn good look of the storylines of oldschool 80's WWF.

For those who are watching the ppvs in story order like me, I suggest you start with some of the promos. Then The War To Settle The Score.

Then watch Wrestlemania 1.

That's just one example.

I'm currently catching up storylines for Wrestlemania 2. Then I'm watching WM2 tonight.

Gosh I can't wait to get to classic 80's AWA/WCW. I always more of a WCW fan than WWF.

She seems to have gotten a pretty good reaction on Raw. Plenty of people doing her dance in the crowd and a lot of cheers for her during her appearances and matches. Don't watch Smackdown so I can't comment on that.

She's paired up with Santino, who I love, so it could just be me. I dig her style though.

I watched Starcade 97 instead of WM2 last night and it was awful. Horrible from top to bottom. It isn't really helping my hypothesis that that era of wrestling was dog shit. Certainly doesn't PROVE it but wow, what a great sample of complete shit. It helps that despite watching EVERY WCW and WWF show (even WCW Saturday Night and WCW Pro) from 1997-2001 week to week on a regular basis I don't remember shit about that era of wrestling despite being an impressionable middle schooler and high schooler who talked about it with friends and going to matches regularly except a few key moments.

Can't wait to get to the attitude era in my chronological watch to see just how shitty it really was.
