Other than Dbrine/Kane it seems like WWE is playing hard to the internet crowd with this card. Hopefully the network continues to do well so they can have cards like this one in the future.

The match winners seem mostly obvious but after Taker's match I'm more willing to believe in curveballs. Cena still gonna win though, but I don't mind.

I'm interested in all the storylines. I'd be down to see RVD win but I imagine Cesaro gonna get the W.

Notice that almost the entire card has had a story in the build. Good stuff, WWE. Especially Shield vs Evolution.

Bryan/Kane is the only one on there that doesn't have a ton to it, but given the circumstances of the past few weeks I'm more than willing to cut Bryan some slack.

I thought every Raw building up to ER was fantastic except last weeks go home show. That was a poor episode. But Smack down took up the slack. Even SD has been good. Shield dominated every heel on the roster except the Wyatt's for example. They've been on a roll. Hopefully they keep it up.

RVD vs Cesaro vs Swagger - four stars
Big E vs BNB - three stars
Rusev vs R-truth - two stars
Shield vs Evolution - five stars

Finishing up on other matches but so far pretty good.

Cena vs Wyatt - 4 stars
Paige vs Tamina Snuka - 2 1/2 stars
Dbry vs Kane - 4 1/2 stars

Overall, aside from Paige and Rusev match, pretty good ppv. Not as good as Mania, but still continues some of the same themes and quality from that ppv.

I like Rusev a lot but that match was weak. Did Woods get legit hurt or something? He wasn't even in it. Not much of a handicap match.

Everything else was really good. Evolution/Shield stole the show but Bryan/Kane was right there too. Really like the three man dance, even though the announcers got confused what to say when RVD eliminated Swagger. Cage match was weird cause of all the extremely slow climbing down inside from Cena and Wyatt but the ending was good. The IC match was really excellent as well. Good work from both Big E and BNB.

Divas was whatever. Not even one damn Superkick?

I liked the Shield/Evolution match (once it really got going), but otherwise didn't care much for the PPV.  The Wyatt/Cena match ending was just too stupid.  LOL at the mic fucking up and the little kid's voice coming through normally after the match, too.  Didn't watch most of the main event because like Batista, I was 'gassed' by that point and had enough.  Rusev is boring.  He's Koslov 2.0, but I'm not passing judgement on him since he's just had dumb squash matches.

I'm not getting the Paige hype from the IWC.  She looks like a timid 15 year old that wouldn't have a chance of going toe to toe with anyone else on the roster, and nothing she's done since getting called up is noteworthy.  On a side note, Paige and Emma have the most unflattering ring gear ever.  I can't figure out what it is about them.

Too bad that was a pretty shit RAW.  That Daniel Bryan/little titty Bella/Kane segment was an embarrassment.  They are also making Bryan seem like a chickenshit heel-type with how he wanted to just leave the show and ran away from Kane.

I just wanted to see Adam Rose debut, but even that fell flat.   :-\  Might be time to take another RAW break for a few weeks.

Yeah, the Bryan/Kane feud has been awful. Even if you ignore all of the cartoony nonsense that's going on with the story, they're still making Bryan look bad. Why should the babyface world champion run from anybody, let alone the 47 year old Kane? At the end of the ADR match, Kane's music hits and Bryan runs for his life... then when he finally disposes of Kane in the parking lot, Bryan runs for his life again. I don't think they're going to go full distinguished mentally-challenged fellow and book him like Rey Mysterio, but they're off to a very bad start.

Out of the three PPVs last weekened, I liked Dragon Gate: Dead or Alive the most. All four title matches were great, and the 6-man cage match in the main event was incredibly wacky (in a good way). Great show, though DG's style can wear me out after a while (everyone is fast and flippy). NJPW's PPV was decent too, but the only great matches were Tomoaki Honma vs. Tomohiro Ishii (best match of the weekend imo; Ishii is just awesome) and AJ Styles vs. Kazuchika Okada. The only problem with the AJ/Okada match was the bad crowd, but it's not entirely their fault. AJ was thrown into the main event before the Japanese fans could get used to his moveset, so they weren't reacting to some of the things they were doing like they should have imo. At least the crowd should be better for their rematch at the Yokohama PPV.

Evolution vs. The Shield was really great as well. The only thing I didn't like about it was how Batista and Roman just laid in the ring until everybody else finished doing their thing, then they spring back to life and go to the finish. Kinda silly, but whatever.

The worst thing about NJPW are the god damn Gracies. They'll have spent half a year building them up just so Nakamura can get his win back at Yokohama. I'd be okay with it if the Gracies were actually over, but nobody cares about them. It was a bad idea that should have been aborted after WK8, but they stuck with it. :yuck

The never-ending Yano Toru/Minoru Suzuki feud is terrible too and all of the NWA guys suck, but other than that I'm fairly happy with everything else. I would like to see Naito and Shibata in more prominent positions, but I guess they're focusing on AJ, Okada, Ishii, and Nakamura for now, so they'll have to take a back seat. Doesn't bother me since all of those guys are great.

See, I hate this.

I hate that every heel must be cowardly. It's fucking bullshit.

He's looked strong for the most part. I don't think this makes him look cowardly at all. In fact, it makes him look strong. Because it shows that his powers are working and story-wise, for someone like Wyatt, that makes him look like a strong heel. It's like if Kane set someone on fire with his fire power back when he first debuted. Sure, he won the cheap way a lot of times, but he also doused someone on fire with his own powers. So that makes him strong. When it comes to supernatural/cult leaders, them winning like this is an advantage.

NJPW's Yokohama show is on in 3.5 hours (2am EST). Anyone else plan on watching it? I'm expecting Tomohiro Ishii vs. Kota Ibushi to be a match of the year candidate since both of those guys are incredible. It just depends on how much time they get, tho. Okada vs. AJ should be great too, but Tanahashi/Makabe vs. Goto/Shibata might be the most interesting match on the card for me. It seems like they're really starting to build toward a Tanahashi/Shibata feud, and if that happens it's going to be fucking amazing considering their history (http://yottsumepuroresu.blogspot.ca/2014/05/njpw-katsuyori-shibata-talks-about-his.html).

The guy who runs that blog also translated some excerpts from Tanahashi's autobiography that recently came out. He talks about psychology, his idols (HBK, Kurt Angle, Dynamite Kid), his thoughts on strong style and dangerous moves, his rivals, etc. It's a good read if you're interested in any of that: http://yottsumepuroresu.blogspot.ca/2014/05/hiroshi-tanahashi-talks-about-his.html

Did ANYone watch the njpw/roh events

The IWGP three way and both of the Young Bucks matches were the highlights for me. Nakamura/Steen was also really good and Liger looked great in his match with Adam Cole. Good shows all around.

Went to the NYC Chikara show last night and it was a lot of fun.  When you're that close and seeing the action for real, you can see the seams a bit that keep the whole thing together.  I honestly think that made me appreciate the performative aspect of the whole thing a lot more.  Chikara's "straight ahead" wrestling doesn't really do much for me, because of the aforementioned seams (I'd rather watch ROH or Pro Inspire or something along those lines for that), but I absolutely love the high flying agility matches and really enjoy the comedy that they're able to inject.

if their show today weren't 6 hours away in Boston, i'd probably try to find a way to get out there.

oh, there audience was insanely diverse.  lots of women, lots of african american and latinos.  I was next to two young teen african american girls.  it was a very different turnout from what i expected (though there was a huge nerd contingency) in the audience.

Make sure you watch Day 1 if you haven't yet. It might even top Dragon Gate's Dead or Alive as the best show of the year. Everything before intermission was good, and everything after was absolutely fantastic. Nakamura/Shibata has to be one of my top 5 matches of the year so far.
