Well I was more trying to be modest.

But she discovered this place a while ago and it's not excactly the best thing to happen. I've said a lot of crazy shit here. It would kind of be be like finding your husband's secret Nazi stash. Lots of questions about if you know the person or not. Pretty intense honestly. And also just kind of embarrassing to know the person your with cries about Final Fantasy a lot.

But I'm still trucking. I mean I've been a pretty fucked and out there person on this fourm, but you know all I can do is keep going and work towards better things, which I belive I am.

It’s honestly probably a good set up after all the weird convos, no hiding aspects of yourself, just being true and present — good start for a relationship IMO

Yer boy bluemax has an honest to goodness in person date of sorts with a cute college professor this weekend. Matched with her on Monday, she responded to my message on Tuesday and we've been having a fun conversation the last couple hours. She mentioned buying some silly pants recently but not having worked up the courage to wear them to the store, so I took that and said "normally I'd say you should wear those on our first date but I don't know what that looks like right now." And then she responded by saying we could go to the grocery store (it is in an interesting part of town) and then people watch the weirdos afterwards.

I get a lot of matches on Hinge with people who say they are "moderate" in political leanings.

Like I don't even understand what that means in today's political climate. Things are pretty heavily on "you are a fucking loon" or "you are rational and believe in science" and there's not a lot of grey area between.

Whenever someone self-describes as moderate I assume they mean that they don't really care about politics.

It's a new user thing. Kind of like how you wouldn't expect a virgin to say that eating ass upside down is what they want from a partner, even if that's what they believe in their heart.

At least that's been my experience, the SuperNormieLawl users I've chatted with turned out to be completely new to the online dating world.

so here's a feel good story

some of you may remember that one chick i dated with the huge boobs, who i liked as a person but wasn't really attracted to her after a while? when we broke up it was pretty bad. we both had feelings for each other, but i wanted to break up, she didn't. it was pretty rough and it took a while to get over it. this was several years ago.

well, the good news is that she found someone else and is about to get married soon. i was concerned what was going to happen to her after we split, but seems she's doing great and better than ever.  :)

I matched with someone last night and wrote them something substantial, a couple hours later late at night they wrote me back something substantial but was finishing up Detroit and then passed out in bed. Went to reply this morning and they had unmatched.

Damn you David Cage  :goty

Also I feel if you reply at like 10pm or later, out of fairness, you really should give them until noon the next day to respond in case they’re asleep and not morning people.

Current girlfriend is out on vacation for 2-3 weeks. Last talk we had she basically said we could/should look for other people. She's seeking someone special really, and she doesn't feel it's me (and I agree it's not someone I imagine bringing in or living with in any near future). That's basically splitting up but as long as we are single we can still have some fun if we want it, I argued.

She goes back and forth with me, we'll see when she's back. Not that I'll fuck someone else in the meantime (...probably) but I feel it would be a bit awkward despite the conversation.

I was telling my SO about a stupid name I saw (I see a lot of stupid names in my line of work) that was:

First name: [Mythical creature]
Middle name: [Thing associated with the mythical creature]
Surname: [Something the kid is going to have to spell for the rest of their life]

I couldn't give the kid's actual name so I riffed and arrived at:

Gorgon Stone Smith

But wait, it gets worse.

While saying the name I did an aside after Gorgon. "Gorgon--that's like a Medusa--" because I realized that I had unintentionally chosen a stupid substitute name and my SO replied incredulously, "I know what a gorgon is!"

This absurd exclamation is now a running joke used when someone knows what someone else is explaining. #intimacy #ActualFeelGoodStory

So my girl and I are back to LDR status for the next 8 months. For those who don't know (i don't post in this thread all that much), we dated for 6 months or so before she moved away for school. after a year and a half I said fuck it and moved across the country to be with her for the 9 months she had left in class. Last week I moved back to my home town and in with my mom to help her fight with cancer and keep her out of a nursing home while my girl goes through her residency program.

Despite this world's quest to kill my spirit, this time i refuse to drink too much in her absence. I refuse goddamnit.

Now excuse me while i roll this joint :lol

I think coworker-I-exchange-memes-with might be something. A lot of shooting the shit (for several hours today...) via text, she dropped an off comment about "her ex" and a couple of other things. Offered a drink tonight. Had plans already but seemed cheerful at the idea of doing that in a couple of weeks.

You have kids together?

Either way, make sure to remember why you split in the first place. If that hasn’t been worked on, you’ll likely just fall in the same patterns again.

We do have kids.

She’s in therapy now. I basically told her there’s no way I’m moving back in right now and if she’s serious about it, keep working on that, and we can revisit it in a year.

Also offered to go to couples therapy if that’s something she wants to do.

If a relationship ended because one person became unbearable and they work on what made them unbearable first before any rapprochement takes place anything is possible.

Most people aren't capable of this level of self-awareness and impulse control, however.
