Note: I've not been a part of that community for 5 years, and in fact there was a list of names they'd blame everything on for it being a shitty community of self loathing and shit heads sniping at each other constantly. All of those names have been gone for years as well. They still complain about me and some of the others from time to time, but the reality is their community got WORSE once all those names got ran off or banned and all the same complaints are there despite all the people being the alleged root of the complaints being long gone.

Also... I feel like people are hearing what they want to hear a little in that interview. Which to be fair is in some way understandable as the story seems poorly articulated. He doesn't elaborate on anything, which he probably should have done. One thing people have missed I think though is the fact that 'black bastard' was in scare quotes. Well, no one is obligated to forgive him. Here's the thing though: it happened 40 years ago and he was ashamed of what he did. Is there no redemption at all? Are we just going to destroy his life for something 40 years ago? Now there are people saying that there is no indication that he was talking about the racial element of it, just the revenge aspect of it. However, lets explore that. You're saying that Liam Neeson is not ashamed of looking for a 'black bastard' to beat up? What's more that he would openly admit to being racist. Or that he was completely oblivious of the racial element of it. In today's climate he didn't know that looking for a random black person to beat up wouldn't be seen in that way?

That seems hard to believe for me. It seems more plausible to me that when he said he was ashamed and that what he did was terrible, he meant all of it. Not just the revenge part. It sounded to me like he was trying to open up about dark tribal urges that may consume you if you don't remain wary of it. It was to open up a discussion on it. And I think it was intentional. You have a climate at the moment where you have celebrities who think they're in a war against Trump. And think they're self-important enough to have a real affect. I just think Liam thought he was doing something constructive to push things forward and it backfired badly.
