AJ can have a match with a broom. He took Shane McMahon into a great match, nobody can do that. Not even Kurt Angle.

I'm not usually a fan of the big women's clusterfuck matches but I like these Smackdown ladies. Becky/Charlotte/Naomi are a solid team. It's unfortunate that the Welcoming Committee has to have Carmella on it, but it's a small roster so what can you do?

Looking forward to Backlash!

I'm looking forward to NXT Takeover this weekend...and then maybe Backlash for Nakamura, at least.

Replace her with Lana?

Backlash is looking pretty hot, no lie. Takeover isn't really looking hot to me, but I have some more faith with DIY vs AOP. DIY needs to get thrown on the main roster, and fast. Their bump cards are almost up.

Load is blown. Gotta recuperate. Summerslam usually gets hot.

I feel like there is more stuff going on now than during WM season, which was pretty terrible television overall. Like, probably the weakest lead up to a WM in years. I guess that's bound to happen when your two main matches are with guys who only show up on TV every few weeks.

Yeah, that was one of the more disappointing "roads to WM" in a while.

Jinder won? Sweet.

With interference from the Singh Brothers, yeah.  So I guess Orton still looks 'strong' because of that.

It was a good finish because The Singh bros didn't really directly interfere. They just pulled Jinder out to prevent Orton from pinning. Who's to say Jinder wouldn't have kicked out? Then Orton decided to attack them on his own, they didn't provoke him at all. Then Jinder recouped and managed to capitalize on a distracted Orton.

I thought it allowed both of them to look strong in the end.

Also, didn't Asuka actually get a real streak, whereas Goldberg's was kind of made-up and he didn't actually have that many wins?

I did pick Raw back up and watched Reigns/Rollins, really enjoyed it.

I stopped watching Wrestling a while ago mostly because there's way too much wrestling going on. For me to keep up is to sacrifice a bunch of my other interests.

Yeah. I cannot keep up. I can't watch most of the stuff I -want- to watch. No way I sit through a normal broadcast of Raw. I can watch Hulu sans commercials in certain situations, which is nice, but I can't dig into NJPW like I used to.

There's just too much of it now.  I know I can watch edited versions on Hulu and the other shows whenever on the Network, but most of it just isn't very compelling and I also prefer to watch stuff live.  I pretty much just watch PPVs at this point and sometimes watch RAW and Smackdown.  The latter definitely being better than the former.  And even then, when this stuff is on, I'm usually playing games with it on in the background.

I actually have yet to watch a single 205 Live or UK-related show and rarely ever watch NXT apart from the specials.

They almost had it for Gallagher but then they made him do the umbrella jump thing for every match and people stopped caring.

I have nothing but time, but I just got realized that for the last couple years I've been waiting for some kind of 'oh shit' moment, or some angle that's actually interesting and not incredibly predictable, and that probably isn't happening anytime soon. Sasha, if you give her the benefit of the doubt, is in a holding pattern right now

Realistically, I think she might be about done. She's lost something pretty major and I don't know if she can get it back.

205 Live is poison. The CWC was a lot hotter, so you can't just say "Well, people don't know these dudes!" they've been going at this since what, November or December? People know them now. They just don't care.

I have an interesting question - imagine a 325 Live where only big folks wrassle. Would you watch that sooner than you'd watch 205?

WWE could have NXT as a brand with KENTA, Chris Hero, Tommy End, La Sombra, Neville, Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, Asuka, Athena, Nikki Storm, Ciampa, Gargano, Akira Tozawa, Cedric Alexander, Austin Aries (if you absolutely have to, I guess), Jack Gallagher, Máscara Dorada, Rich Swann, Spanky, Drew McIntyre, Roderick Strong, and Biff Busick. Instead, you've got them all spread out across 3 different "brands", while filling in the gaps with shitbirds like Eric Young, TJP, those bland dudes from Australia/NOAH, and the ultimate euro cunt piece of shit Noam Dar.

That sounds awesome.  I'd watch that!

I'd love it if Stro's roster selection would be its own thing, like NXT, and embrace gimmicks a lot more. Make it its own universe, so to speak. No crossover unless major major shit. That means no you don't bring out poor Rich Swann to job to Strowman because he needs someone to feed off of.

It got to the point where watching just felt like homework

I did the same around the godawful "Ruthless Aggression" era only to be reeled back by the Pipe bomb. At this point there's youtube and shit where if a big, cool thing does happen it'll probably be linked in this thread. So at least the internet is advanced enough where I can look up good moments when they happen and I actually start giving a damn again.

The pipe bomb seeded my re-interest in wrestling after over a decade, and I have a weird FOMO thing for massively broadcast live events, so I eventually I got really into watching it live every week. That paid off occasionally, but for the most part I don't feel like I'm missing out on a lot anymore. Like you said, I can just follow live threads and TotalDivasEps or whatever and basically not miss anything I would have gotten from actually watching it. "Oh cool maggot projections, wonder if there will be anything worth watching from this match besides that"

I basically feel like I'm missing out on seeing AJ put on good to great matches and not much else. I have a friend with a network subscription that has people over for every ppv, and if AJ is booked against someone that I think he'll have a great match with, I go over to watch. Otherwise I read recaps of Raw/SD and just don't give a shit.

What it boils down to is that WWE is doing what they think is best. A lot of people (enough to continue funding the company?) agree and watch. I don't and don't watch for the most part. Their product is fine but not for me.

If you came in from the pipe bomb promo (the second one he did, the WWE one he rehashed) - I'm sorry the rest of everything was kinda crap. It was a rough time. Not as rough as a year or two before, but hey.

But even then, their ratings continue to decline.  I wonder if the network subs have improved?

I still pay for a sub since PPVs are about the only thing I really enjoy still watching.  But I gotta say, even those are starting to get tiring and there's just too many now.  I don't really care about Extreme Rules this Sunday but I'll watch I guess.  I mean, at this point...I don't care what anyone in the main event is doing, and whoever wins (probably Balor) is going to get fed to Lesnar and lose, since they still have him penciled in to feud with Strowman.
