does anyone else ever feel tempted to rebuy games they have bought on other download services?

I got Thief 3 on direct2drive, but at $3 it's tempting to double dip on steam just because it's so much easier to just click "install" and then click "play" instead of having to go and log in and download the exe and install the game.  Probably won't double dip but it's tempting and the reason I don't buy things from other services anymore.

Also might get Madballs because apparently it's good?

It's the other way around for me.  I buy more stuff from D2D because they don't ignore me when my CD-key no longer works due to OS re-installations.

could you explain this a little bit? i too appreciate steam because  (so far anyways) it's so convienent (almost too convienent when these sales happen) and also doesn't treat you as guilty until proven innocent re: DRM. Are there cdkey issues I should be looking out for in the futur

Stuff like EA games keep track of how many times you've installed the game.  If you've forgotten to uninstall or had a borked OS a couple of times then the CD key might no longer work.

I wasn't aware of that until some of my Steam games wouldn't work.  Before, I've always thought that Steam takes care of all DRM issues.  When I contacted Steam about getting me new keys, they just ignore my requests.  Many others have complained of the same treatment from Steam regarding such issues.

D2D is much better at resolving such problems.  I had to request a new key twice for a game during a particularly bad streak of OS upgrades and they came through quickly without any questions.

well that sucks - i almost always felt guilt free about buying on steam  because i thought it was all hassle free -espexcially through a change of computer or a OS wipe. I guess nothing is without it's caveats  :(

FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage is pretty good. I played the original some time ago and I remember liking it, but I never really played it that much. The third entry seems much more fleshed out, with lots of new modes and some pretty good graphics. I'd say that the bonus modes [bowling, high jump, ect.] are probably the best thing about the game, they're just so much fun.

They've been the best part of the series for years. I wish they'd get some sort of online multiplayer/leaderboards for them though.

correction: everything borderlands is 66% off including the DLC

http://store.steampowered.com/app/8980/

the main page doesn't even list all the daily deals, like HL2 and the two episodes have daily deals, but they only show HL2.

This is probably a long shot since most of ya'all already own it, but does anyone want to do a four-pack for Borderlands? It's like seven bucks and I'm already good for two slots.

Let me know, thanks!

Can you play the Borderlands DLC across multiple PCs?  There was some controversy about it retroactively sticking some form of  DRM in the game if you bought it.

somewhat unrelated to this thread, but has anyone used good old games before? and how do they handle their downloads?

since I'm revisiting old Xbox games on the PC, I was thinking about checking out Advent Rising (haven't played it before) and its $6 on GOG while $10 on steam.  Do they have any weird security or problems? do they come already updated? I feel slightly spoiled by steam.
