Remember those two HL3 protesters in fron of Valve HQ?

Quote
Owen has been talking to Gabe Newell at Gamescom about a recent incident at Valve HQ, where two protesters turned up with cardboard signs asking for more news on Half Life 2: Episode 3. Newell went out to meet the protesters, gave them pizza and soda, and then invited them in for a tour of the studio. They ended up sitting down to test Dota 2 and didn’t leave until two days later.

confirming that Aztaka is good stuff

it's like metroid + diablo + old western rpgs + a whole lotta jank

checked wikipedia and it came out in 2009.  feels and looks late 90s, early 2000s.

I always wanted to try those games on the PS3, but I skipped it since I don't have a stick for that system. Now I'll wait for them to become part of some indie bundle or something so I can get them all for a dollar. 8)

"These 3 games are considered to be the best shooters in the doujin Bullet-Hell genre"

Lolwut. I have never seen anyone say this. The games do have their fans, but the best doujin shooters? No chance in hell.

Don't forget Chantelise

Quote
Five years ago, a witch's curse beneath the red moon turned Chante into a fairy. Now she and her sister Elise search for a way to transform her back into a human, and in their travels they come across a particular town, which is home to a number of nearby ruins, as well as a peculiar shopkeeper named Aira, and a strange, mercurial fortune-teller who calls herself Elma. Could this place hold the key to returning Chante to normal? Or will it lead to more answers than our two sisters ever wanted to know?...

Could some one in the U.S. or U.K. try to enter an invalid steam activation code and show me the examples they give on how a key should look like.  I ask because I just bought a keycode and it follows non of the three formats they list as examples of a valid key.

where did you get the key from? DX3 is steamworks so every game key will activate. if it doesn't then you have a bogus key.

GetGamesGo sounds fishy enough.

Most of these Steam key-resellers buy games from Russian where they cost around $20. I think Steam has caught on though, and will block you from registering said keys unless you're in Russia. You can try a Russian VPN, or just get your money back. Or do this...

Hot Pursuit is amazing.  I've been playing the PS3 version for months and I still haven't beat it or gotten bored of it.  The campaign is like 30 hours and because the island is big with varied scenery, weather, and time of day, and different modes you're always doing something a bit different.

Probably my 4th favorite racer after Burnout Paradise, Wipeout HD, and PGR4 this gen.  Definitely recommended.

Would get the superior PC version but fuckkk I'm not restarting this campaign after logging so many hours in already.

Civ V has some strange issues from time to time. Textures like to disappear, randomly takes a long time to process a turn while others fly by, units won't let anyone know they need orders, etc.

I'm trying to remember if Civ IV was like this for the first year, I think it was. I know Civ III was. To be fair, it wasn't until BTS that Civ IV could even be thought of as having overtaken Civ II for me. (Could still debate.)

And what is the deal with this AI. We're all buddy buddy and then BAM WE'RE GOING TO WAR, CHECK OUT ALL THESE UNITS I JUST MOVED TO YOUR BORDER. I heard about the AI but I didn't think it was like this. (I assumed more like MGE where they're just assholes but you can buy them off.) Though I do like the ability to bombard with the cities. These groups of Greek archers were attacking me but I had had beelined for gunpowder after my other BFF the Aztecs went to war a century earlier. So Greece declares, I switch everything to produce gunpowder units, as they get close to the farthest city I hit them every turn I can and have my few units about harass. They get next to the city and bam Musketmen finished, broke two of the invaders units, and I had some Knights swarm the others. They fled back across the border and Alexander wanted peace for just 10 Gold. :lol

Game seems to give a lot more gold than Civ IV. Although I am just playing on a lower difficulty to figure out the changes first.

I got a deal on some extra RAM the other day that's on the way, maybe that can clean up some of the turn stuff. I know Civ IV really enjoyed getting more RAM, even more than when I went from a P4 to Core2Duo.

Also. There's something unsettling about achievements and Civ.

Check your auto save in Civ V. I think it's set to 10 by default. Every 10 turns it will save the game. I'm pretty sure that is why those turns are longer than the others. I only encounter eradic AI at the harder difficulties.

I was interested in that but reading about it you don't build cities.  The cities already exist and you just build the transportation lines (cars, subways, monorails) and see how the traffic goes.

Sounds kind of interesting and really freaking boring at the same time.
