I'm hoping Sims Medieval gets a daily deal. I kinda want to play it on the cheap. For $15, I may go ahead and buy it anyway on the last day.

If anyone still doesn't own the new Deus Ex, you can get it for $20 digital on Amazon and activate it on steam.  Comes with one of the pre-order DLCs as well.

I'm really really surprised by the quality of Hamilton's Great Adventure.  I knew it'd be a good little indie game, but I didn't think it'd be this polished and well designed.

If you don't own it, you should pick it up for $2.50 on Sunday.  Excellent puzzle game with a nice Indiana Jones theme and very polished nice graphics & music.  This & Orcs Must Die have been great $3-4 buys.  Probably better than a lot of the $30-40 games I've picked up this BF :|

How long and amazing is the DLC of Deus Ex?

it's pretty long, 5 hours at least unless you run n gun on an easy difficulty.  the new maps are solid and great-looking; just as good as the main game's maps.  there's tons of enemies in them too, so i found it to be more difficult than the main quest.  just like the full game there's opportunities to use each one of your powers so you can replay it and try different stuff (and you'll need to to get all the cheevs), and there's a lot of dialog in the game that changes depending on what your actions.   the plot contains a bunch of stuff that should have been in the game in the first place, as it deals with a lot of the stuff that seemed to randomly come out of nowhere in the original's endgame.  the downsides are that you can incorporate the dlc into the main game on replays, and that there's some short backtracking later on that is there for no other reason but to pad out game length.  still, the expansion is quality and a must-play if you loved the full game.

witcher 1 is $2.50

I've been planning on a replay before The Witcher 2 and that's a good double dip "I'm too lazy to install the DVDs" price.

also an assive Tom Clancy sale

between this and Batman AC, that's like 30 gigs downloaded in a week.  I need to get a new hard drive.

99%

I think the one case of thanksgiving sale being cheaper than winter sale was with Tomb Raider Underworld, which was cheaper in subsequent sales.  also daily deals can be cheaper, like hydrophobia in the summer.

basically, unless you want it NOW, it will be cheaper.

Buy Kane and Lynch 2. Yeah, it's like 3 hours long but that game has style.

It pains me to agree with this, but I do. I'd only add that you better have someone to play it with, I imagine playing it solo would be awful.

I never played the first game but K&L2 is crazy in all the best ways.

Just get the extra Civs, unless you're one of those weirdos who likes Scenarios.

edit: I think one of the wonder DLC broke the game, remember reading it on QT3

edit#2: can't see the Mongols DLC on Steam, IIRC it's the most interesting DLC civ

Non-daily deal cheap grabs I'm picking up:

Rock of Ages = $5
Dungeons of Dredmor $2.50

Wish Driver was cheaper.  I love arcade racers and now that I've finished up Hot Pursuit I think I've finished every one this gen besides Motorstorm 3 (which is STILL $60 WTF; not one sale during BF) and I hear the new Driver is quite good.  Will wait until another sale or two.

Red Faction Armageddon is $7.50 on impulse and is steamworks (or so it says):  http://impulsedriven.com/rfarmageddon

current Steam deal price is $17

I'm still passing because I've heard bad things

edit:  nvm, it isn't list as a steam retail CD key.  so I don't know if it will register.

Yeah, I'd be tempted to bite at $5 if there were twice as many maps. Those two DLC maps need to be rolled into the base game like UT3 did at minimum and even that only gives the game like what seven maps.

I guess the SDK/Map Editor has even been unofficially cancelled, in either case it's not coming. Bethesda apparently put the kibosh on that.

The Doom 3 source is out now and maybe when the rest of id Tech 4 comes out somebody will make one.

I was pretty hyped for Brink, but it was just so, so boring. I think Splash Damage just got in way over the head and had no idea how to pull the overall package together, leaving a few dangling elements of greatness that amounted to not a whole lot in the end.
