Eh, I did the first mission. I've restarted on hard mode because normal seems a bit easy.

I'm ashamed to say I've never played Deus Ex. I got HR and GOTY DX OG. I tried out DX while HR was downloading and good god is that game bad. Well, bad isn't a word, because the basic principles are all ironed out in HR, but fuck, is it DATED. I usually don't say that about pc games made around that era. I think a lot of pc games from that era have aged like wine, but goddamn, Deus Ex isn't one of them, and I'm not even talking about the shitty graphics and presentation, though that is definitely a part of it the lack of appeal as well and I'm far from a graphics whore.

ZOOM INTO CHARACTER'S EYE TO SHOW CINEMATIC STORYLINE DIRECTION IN CUTSCENE. EYE IS JUST A BLOCK RED PIXEL. But the tone is something that they desperately want you to take seriously. I was laughing my butt off at the shitty presentation. Metal Gear Solid for psx has better presentation. And this came out in 2000? Final Fantasy VII almost has better graphics. Well, it DOES, in battle. Thankfully it only cost 2 bucks.

Sorry. Game is shit.

I fail to see how anyone with taste liked the game in 2000 or 2001 when it came out.

Fuck that wank fest. Give me BG2 any day every day over that clusterfuck. Thankfully we are in the future, a future where Deus Ex does not suck balls.

I played Deus Ex after i played HR and thought it was too old for me to really enjoy but i definitely saw what was so impressive and ambitious about it. There really wasn't anything like that at the time.

I didn't like Deus Ex 3, BUT, most of that is on me. I GENERALLY dont like stealth games- and this game just cant be much of anything else. The boss fights are fucked- everyone admits that; even the devs. The game nails the atmosphere, one that up until last year wasn't explored much. I think its a remarkable game, but that doesn't really make it fun for me- it just gets my respect.

That is the one compliment I can give it: its vast scope. I can see what they were going for, but HR seems to have achieved everything they tried to do in that game.

Shooting sucks until much later in the game when you have updated your augmentations and weapons. As grumbler said, you're doing it wrong.

And regarding the original, go stand in the corner with Tom Chick. It still holds up today, especially if you install the new texture mod :bow2

I'm not doing it wrong. I got Ghost on my first mission! I'm mostly talking about the controls, not the shooting itself. Like the fact you have to press left or right to shoot around corners, or the shift from first to third person.

no, what is wrong with deus ex

It does not launch, it says its already running. Common mistake if you look at the boards, but no solution. Steam doesn't want to refund me for this or COH.

I wonder how many times I will have to reopen the ticket, but I will keep at it, at some point they must budge.

talk to thq about coh. why are you asking steam for a code? go to thq customer service. as for dx, i dled the game and couldn't get past a load menu when starting a new game, so I quit, restarted steam, and then the game started to dl the latest patch, and afterwards all problems were gone. Make sure the game is fully patched even if steam doesn't automatically do it for you.

Exciting for the possibility of Activision/Marvel finally releasing their games digitally.  I'd totally buy Wolverine Origins and MUA on Steam if they ever show up.

Heard this bit as well but for this price i would check it out to see if its accurate

LA Noire for 6 bucks?

$5.74 for the Complete Edition which is the game plus all the DLC

LA Noire is only $3.74 here.

edit: looks like that's just the base game. complete is $15, but DLC is $5. So that makes no sense.

Huh?

Complete Edition (Game +DLC) is saying $5.74 here

god i almost completely forgot about all the things i hated about this game.

i believe the crux of it is that the investigates have terrible logic and the only way you can play it is to warp your brain into the games fucked logic. also the game does a terrible job at telling you what you're doing wrong.

I got into DotA2, installed it.

There are 81 heroes I can choose from? They all have different skills and I don't know what they do.

There's no tutorial or way to learn about the game before jumping online. I don't even know what DOTA is (a game where people run down lanes at each other?)

This is harsh.

it's like tower defense i think. you need to destroy your enemies base or whatever. each side spawns AI dudes who are always going down lanes automatically towards each other. you gotta use powers and stuff to defend/attack.

or i could be all wrong. who knows.
