This is mainly for small time devs that slip through the cracks of the approval process. Big publishers should be able to get their stuff on Steam without any problems if they wanted to.

You know Baldurs Gate and stuff.

Baldur's Gate wouldn't have any problems getting on Steam if Bioware/EA submitted it.

Steam Greenlight opened for business today, and it's a complete cluster at this point. :lol Every two-bit wanna-be game designer is trying to shove their hot mess out there, tons of iOS shit, along with distinguished mentally-challenged people that think submitting a game means you're requesting Steam to put that game on Steam (someone put "Turok") and the yuksters that keep submitting "Half-Life 3" or  "I MAED A GAME, DERP!"

It's kind of fun actually, there's definitely a treasure hunt aspect to it. I've found 4 or 5 games that look okay so far out of the hundreds on there.

Doesn't sound too much different then normal retail.

True, but it's more like the DVD bargain bin at Wal-Mart. Sure, there might be some pretty cool movies in there, but you'll have to dig for them and feel that soul-crushing feeling that you're doing something horrible and dirty the entire time.

You can't change the resolution past 320x240.  Seriously.

Game itself seems ok, but I'd wait for a $2.50 sale.

They need to decimate the number of Likes required for a Greenlight game. It's, what, like 100.000 right now? Ridiculous.

Valve said that the like threshold would start out incredibly high and they would adjust it downwards based upon activity.  Apparently they've revised it downward twice and are planning further revisions in the future.

The main thing they need to get working is the option to search for the games that have the most Likes.

some random dude added me on steam and today started begging me to give him all my TF2 hats. I traded a bunch of random weapons for Bill's hat and then he started asking for all of my hats for free. sorry bro, i'm not into random people bothering me for that kind of bullshit. had to block ya.

if you're someone here let me know. you did have someone else from here as a friend as well but i assume that's just because he was adding people from my friends list.

I get that sometimes, especially after my vintage stuff.

I had a bunch of vintage duplicates and kept trying to tell the guy to just offer me something and he could have as many of my seven vintage razorbacks as he wanted. But he kept going "MAKE ME OFFER" and I finally offered one razorback for 50% of his inventory "and nothing less" and he went away.

Apparently they're Russians trying to exploit another F2P market or something? A few of them seem to come from the GAF group if I backtrace them though.

Lately I've had this strong desire to give Dota 2 another shot. I'd truly like to learn how to play and maybe even enjoy playing it! :D

If any of y'all see me online (I'm in The Bore group as bigbobslamjam) just shoot me an IM and I'll join you if i have the time.

If anyone's got any good beginner tips, I'll happily hear them, thank you!

Too bad I've been doing this for the past four years with a $10 HDMI cable and Joy2Key

edit: I know I sound like a dick. I guess I was just expecting something more game-changing after overhearing multiple nerds gush about it IRL. First-party controller support and a less pixelated Steam window, whoooooooo
