Yeah, there was a bundle a couple weeks ago where I was like "great, awesome, oh have it, have it, have it, have it."  :(

Am leaning towards this one though.

If that "DLC" means Missing Link then that's like Deus Ex Complete for $6 which is cheaper than summer sale was for just the base game, QC for $3, then SC2 and Last Remnant for 50 cents each.

Just got an Origin bundle of "Sabouteur, Red Alert 3, Dragons Age, Hot Pursuit, Medal Of Honor, both Dead Spaces AND IT'S THE MERC." for free because of EA's promo code screw up!  :punch

(They're going to take them all away aren't they...)

What's awesome about this bundle is you can split it since they're just codes.  I only wanted Quantum Conundrum but I'm sure I can pass on the codes for some of the others for a few bucks to friends.

Yeah, dispatching extra codes is always fun. Just Cause to a GAF guy who was wondering about the original, Hitman to a friend who was interested in the series and the new game but had never played any of them, and then Just Cause 2 to a guy who had his fiance run off a couple months ago.

I was considering selling them off or seeing if anyone on GAF wanted to trade for the Sanctum Map Pack 2 but then realized I had some friends I could send to (and then someone actually wanted the original Just Cause so I figured I'd let him have it, good and hard). I really like when letting those duplicate games get sent is allowed. I had a friend overseas who couldn't really buy stuff at a sane price for a while and his PC wasn't that great, but I would sometimes go "I do want these two games...and I guess I can send him these" on some of those indie bundles and didn't mind sending him a few codes for something fun to try out at least. Paid me back out of the blue randomly when he was able to from my wishlist on a Steam sale. But I don't mind dropping codes to people on GAF or here or elsewhere either.

Wouldn't mind if people other than Valve did it on Steam. Like I mentioned Sanctum, the map pack is $4 which I kinda want but not enough that I know it can't be had cheaper in a few months or so during a big sale. But the entire collection of everything is only $4.74. If I could buy that and get the second map pack (which is included) and then send everything else to a friend who hasn't played the game but who I think might enjoy it, I'd do that. Or even something ala carte, where I could get a discount buying whatever games DLC if I package it with the game and some other DLC for a friend. Right now they're missing out on all $4.74

You can play TF2 and such with any friend, but it'd be great to have incentives to provide them a base game to keep MP stats up while you buy DLC or whatever. (And hopefully they enjoy it enough they start buying when they can.)

The amazon square enix bundle is currently dead whilst they find more keys. Until they do you can use this code (SQRLUVIO) to get $2 off any digital game purchase. There's quite a few bits of dlc you can get for free like from saints row or darksiders. One use only but if you have more than one account you can get around that.

DC gifted Civ V. Thanks! :bow2 Is it worth playing without Gods and Kings or should I just pony up for that straight away? I know I love Civ already (II and IV anyway) but have heard pretty mixed things about V around here. Just pre-ordered Natural Selection as well, I thought it was releasing in a few days then they changed it to November 1st...

Main game is good on it's own. Just wait for a sale on it and grab the exp pack later (I'm still waiting to pick it up).

Was it the GOTY edition or normal one? Some of the extra civs are good to grab during the sales too.

Just play some of the base game there's plenty of hours there despite its issues, then if you want hit up the workshop for CivNights. That'll last until Gods and Kings is cheaper again.

Considering you love II and IV, you're instantly smarter than a lot of people. Especially anyone who thinks III was any good. (Oh god MGE-ToT-CTP-CTP II-III, please don't take me back to those days.)

All of that said, hit up the workshop anyway for InfoAddict. And next time a sale rolls around, some of the extra civs and scenarios are fun to have.

$30 lol

its doom 3 with widescreen and flashlight + gun combo. there's other graphical tweaks but fuck if i could notice them. you also get a new campaign that didnt seem that fun from what i played (although it looked like there is a hell section from the trailers), and you get win7-compatible doom1, doom2, and bonus episode for d2. not worth it.

You're overestimating just how powerful the 360/PS3 are and how much effort id put into this job.  It's an 8 year old PC game running on ~7 year old console hardware.   It's more or less on par with the better "HD" collections.

Circumstances of the PC version are just weird.  Allegedly the digital versions of Doom 3+Expansion have been replaced by Doom 3 BFG.  If you want to play original Doom 3, you need to either already own it or purchase the big id pack on steam.  Id is weird about PC these days.  The port of Rage was pretty poor, and I played it after it'd been "fixed" with patches.

Yeah, after $20 Sleeping Dogs last weekend and $20 Dark Souls this weekend, it's starting to look like we're hitting PRIME DISCOUNT SEASON and my wallet is ready to catch up on 2012's $60 titles for $20 a piece.

Oh and Lollipop Chainsaw is about to hit that $20 mark too since it's $20 on Gamestop and should be $20 on Amazon shortly (console only unfortunately).

*edit, nm.  LC is already $20 on amazon.  And hey Gears of War 3 is $17.  Good times for buying.

Question for people who hook up their PC to a TV (or second monitor):  Is there a way to make games opens on that second monitor without making it the 'primary' monitor?

If possible, I want to still use my computer while playing games on my TV.

It's not possible because of a flaw in the operating system. What you can do is to use windowed mode on your second monitor. There are also applications to remove the borders from the window, but I haven't tried those myself.

A few games let you set which monitor they show up on. Saints Row The Third, NBA 2K, Just Cause 2 are a couple that come to mind.

I had an issue with Just Cause 2 for a while where it wouldn't play on my primary monitor, it'd automatically load up on the secondary.

I traded in games at Gamestop but it only came up to $55, which was just enough to pre-order Black Ops 2 for the Xbox. I'm going to see if I can scrounge up some money to get Dark Souls when it goes on sale for $20 at Amazon on Sunday.
