What's the best Civ game?  I heard it's Civ V w/expansions?  What's the easiest one to get into for a first Civ game?

The best right now is 5 with all the expansion (6 is awesome, but it needs some patches and more playable civs)
Easiest to learn is Civ Revolution on PS3 and 360 (basically a PC Civ with stripped down mechanics)

A drifting traveler boards a one-man space shuttle destined for Alpha Centauri. This shuttle is piloted by Budapest, an artificial intelligence program designed to serve humanity. She is a hardworking, diligent program, just a little naïve to the ways of the universe, and intensely dedicated to her directive. But when disaster unexpectedly befalls their ship, the two of them are sent careening through uncharted space, left with dire prospects for rescue.

Stuck in a floating cockpit drifting through the empty ocean of stars, they have only each other to rely on. Between interesting discoveries both old and new, Budapest quickly develops new traits and quirks beyond her programming. As she attempts to navigate her own troubled seas, the passenger discovers that there is more to this program than previously expected.

Um.. as someone who is actually a part of the BDSM Community, all I can say is this is pretty much a pathetic ecuse of a Simulator of the BDSM lifestyle. But of course this is clearly not made by people who actaully care. They just want to make something that they know will get on Steam because T&A and get attention with YouTubers.

The Steam sale starts tomorrow.

Prepare for disappointment and mediocre discounts on games you already own.  :gaben

So there's another steam sale again.  A few things are cheaper than thanksgiving (damnit, should just wait the extra month every year), some things are on sale at 25% that weren't on sale yet at all.  I picked up a few things, which I shouldn't have because I need to stop increasing my steam backlog  :'(

Also, this isn't on sale but I heard it was good and gotta support those shmups on steam (plus $6.99 is affordable):

I wasn't really planning on buying anything, but I got 8 emails from Valve about games on my wishlist going on sale.

I bought:
  • Beyond Good & Evil
  • Broken Age
  • Fallout Tactics
  • Life is Strange
  • Rogue Legacy
$22

This morning I deleted the rest of the items in my wishlist so I won't get notifications anymore.  It's been at least a year since I finished a video game.  There's no excuse.

Devil Dagger's Steam banner is gorgeous. Game uses a hand as the source of weapon projectiles tho which frankly looks awkward.

I got a Steam link.

The picture quality is awesome which is surprising as I'm using a wireless connection from my PC (the Steam Link is wired to the router).

Shit isn't perfect (took me an hour how to figure out how to get sound on my TV) but when it works it's great.

As an aside, the price charts on the "event" cards always amuse me, everyone should know at this point that the market will be flooded with them and you can still get enough for free to get the badge, but the price still takes a couple days to crash completely.
