In an unknown location out in the wilderness, a number of pregnant women are being held against their will in a facility in which everything is decorated in the style of a comforting living room to lull the women into a false sense of security so that they believe they’re in a safe spot.

The reality however, is much more hideous...

The women are in fact being monitored by a race of Little evil humanoids dressed head to toe in bright yellow robes. The humanoids want the babies for their heinous experiments, but you, as a mother, see no alternative but to take your own life to save your baby’s soul.

The game will begin with you in a room where you find a tape recorder with a woman’s voice on it, who was the previous inhabitant of the room before you.

The tape is a warning for other women who will be kidnapped, telling them what is going on and that she is going to kill herself before the evil little monsters burst through the door and take her baby.

What's the appeal of this game? It always looked so basic and devoid of animation in battles. And it's also censored on Steam.

If this is the original game, it's actually designed and directed by Kazuya Niinou who created/directed Etrian Odyssey, The Last Ranker, 7th Dragon, FFXIV 2.0 Quest Design, and Dragon Quest Builders. So yeah, he's pretty good at making good gameplay games. Because of that, it's a pretty solid dungeon crawler combat-wise and the story is actually sorta decent about all these dead people and their tragic stories of how they died iirc. The perv stuff is very unfortunate, but if you can get past that it was a fun little low budget dungeon crawler for its time on psp. If this is the sequel, it's by someone else and don't know much about it.

Criminal Girls Invite Only is the Vita port/remake of the original.

game is ok but expect a mobile experience: no exploring, just lots of battles and menu work. still decently fun for what it is, and it includes a hard mode that can require actual strategy.

Planetarian was alright. It's kinda boring like all visual novels but has a nice setting and hook to it (military guy in the post-apocalypse stumbles upon a planterium with its last functioning robot that doesn't realize the world has ended) and the music is good. It's also pretty short for VN standards at like 5-7 hours.
Clannad is super boring, at least going by the anime. I used to be a KEY fan because I like their depressing fucked up stories and Clannad was the only one I never made it through. I heard after story (the 2nd half of the game) gets good, but it was such a slog.
