We’ve expanded testing across the board. At the end of February, between Centers for Disease Control and Prevention labs and state public health facilities, the U.S. had performed only about 8,000 coronavirus tests. As of this week, we are performing roughly 500,000 tests a day, and more than 23 million tests have been performed in total.
so it's taken six months to test 6 % of the population?
Hooray!
That also assumes that everyone who got tested only did so once, which definitely isn't the case.
Has anyone gotten a haircut yet? The lady I get my haircut from says her place has reopened, people are all required to wear masks (as per any indoor place in NYS) and will require a temperature check at the door. Everything has been completely scrubbed and sanitized too. Worth the risk?
I got mine cut on Friday. Way more protocol for a haircut then going to the grocery store. Video call ahead of time to discuss what I want done. Wait in car until appointment time. Temp check at the door. Sign in for tracing. Wash hands afterwards. Mask on at all times. Stylist had her mask on at all times and wore gloves, she even had a method for keeping my mask on while cutting around my ears. After washing my hair the next client wasn't allowed to sit in the station until it had been disinfected.
Now mind you, this is an independent salon, my stylist is the owner and she is the wife of a friend of mine, so I trust her more than a random Supercuts.
