-- As per a report from wrestlinginc.com, NXT Champion Adam Cole's contract with WWE is set to expire in August of this year and he has yet to agree to terms on a new deal. While negotiations are ongoing, Cole's services would be assumed to be of great interest to AEW as he was a member of the Bullet Club with the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and Adam Page while his girlfriend is Britt Baker, one of AEW's top stars. Baker has actually went public with the fact that she hopes that Cole can one day share the same ring with his Bullet Club "family." -- This report adds that if Cole decides to re-sign with WWE, it would be for significantly more money than he is earning right now and if that happens, he would almost surely be destined for the main roster soon thereafter in the fall time frame. If Cole decides to decline all of WWE's offers, he would become a free agent and be eligible to work any events, including AEW's All Out, in September.
Wrestling Inc confirmed that there are discussions about bringing Io Shirai and Velveteen Dream up to the main roster from NXT.
-- With WWE launching a new "free tier" for the WWE Network earlier this week, the 30-day free trial that was offered to potential new customers is gone. The wording when subscribing now reads: "WWE Network subscriptions are billed in advance and recur monthly. Billing starts on the date you subscribe or reactivate your account subscription, and re-bill on the same day each month until cancellation." The new free tier - which includes recent episodes of WWE TV as well as select PPVs and specials - essentially replaces the free month and is meant to promote the network and potentially convert those customers into paying ones. -- While the free month for new subscribers has been scrapped for now, it seems the company is reserving the right to bring it back during "high traffic times" such as before WrestleMania, according to f4wonline.com. This would allow WWE to try to pump up subscriber numbers during their most important quarter and report those figures during the Q1 conference call that normally takes place in April.
They did a promo for this Sunday's PPV that is a remake of the In Your House game intro. The original:spoiler (click to show/hide)[close]

The current social climate in the United States has a hot topic among people over the last few weeks as change needs to be made. Various WWE stars have come out to talk about the Black Lives Matter movement.Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that WWE Hall of Famer and NXT agent Shawn Michaels “was in a heated debate” at NXT Takeover In Your House ahead of the show on Sunday night in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University.Per the report, the legendary pro wrestler was discussing the current social climate with another producer. This is when the other producer mentioned that everyone already gets treated the same.It was noted that the statement didn’t go over well with Michaels, who proceeded to break down systematic prejudice and inequality to the person. He did so in “a very heated discussion.”According to the report, the argument made its way back to multiple wrestlers the following day. However, Michaels was said to be a “professional” and worked with the person even after the argument went down.
- According to a report by Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda, WWE is set to go ahead with a "controversial" storyline this Friday on Smackdown that will include Jeff Hardy and Sheamus as they build towards Sunday's match at Backlash.-- Cassidy notes that a contract signing segment will air which will be interrupted by a "man in a lab coat and four security guards." Hardy will then accuse Sheamus of trying to "ruin his life" while the latter will look to seek "assurances" ahead of their match by demanding that Jeff undergo a urine test since he refuses to wrestle against a "junkie" and under the assumption that Jeff will not be able to pass the test. The segment then continues until Jeff loses control and throws the urine sample on Sheamus' face.
I noted earlier that it was Vince McMahon’s decision to remove Paul Heyman from his role as the head of creative for Monday Night Raw.This came after frustration with the declining ratings as Heyman was trying to build for the future while SmackDown was seen as a show that was more in line with McMahon’s creative vision.
And yet apparently still in charge, ultimately. If only there was some other parallel situation we could compare it to and see that it would end poorly!
Last week, CM Punk used his platform on Twitter to take a shot at AJ Styles for not voicing support for the Black Lives Matter movement. The tweet is deleted now, but Punk said that it’s been “obvious for years” that Styles would respond in that manner.Punk then followed it up with this tweet, which doesn’t mention Styles by name, but the implication is clear:https://twitter.com/CMPunk/status/1268971886735695873
Speaking of people saying ridiculous and stupid things, Randy Orton confirmed on Corey Graves’ After the Bell podcast today that AJ Styles is indeed a flat Earther:Quote “AJ is a flat Earther. He thinks the Earth’s flat. And I know that’s just a really comical topic to talk about, and I give him shit about it, and he hates it.” “No, it’s not a rib, he thinks the Earth’s flat.”
