Children of the Sea is probably one of the most beautiful manga I have ever read.

http://mangawall.com/manga/children-of-the-sea

My Library has all 5 volumes so I've recently started to read it.  It's just so pretty to look at.

why in the hell did no one tell me about gdgd faries?

it's a short anime which is conversational.  it's 3 fairies who have conversations that start off quite normal and thanks to the personalities of the characters get weirder and weirder as they go.

it's on crunchyroll and it's not for everyone but good lord it's amazing

shout out to kr-chan, the downer fairy

(they do a similar show called Straight Title Robot Anime but I haven't gotten too deep into that one)

Uwagaki Manga
Quote
It’s fairly obvious to Terui Chiaki that her classmate Ajikawa Yoshio has a crush on her. He is completely not boyfriend material in her eyes and, even if he was, Chiaki already has a boyfriend. Their mysterious teacher Mr. Yamada sees this relationship between the two students and offers an experiment. He is able to make copies of people and objects and does so with Chiaki, creating a copy of her, except the copy has no knowledge of her boyfriend. Yoshio will hit on the Chiaki copy, who is named Koaki, and he'll try to make her fall in love with him. After a specified amount of time, the copy and original will be combined back together and which ever love is stronger between the current boyfriend and Yoshio will overwrite all other emotions. So this love experiment begins and both Chiaki and Koaki, being the same person, thinks Yoshio has no chance in hell but with each passing day, some feelings begin to bubble.

Is there going to be a fourth Berserk movie or were they only covering the same golden age? I read that the movies stuck closer to the manga than the anime adaptation.  It's crazy that for as popular and long running as Berserk is, almost all that's been animated is the flashback arc.  The closest to covering the rest is that PS2 game.

yeah, it won't be complete, but there's so much material that an anime could last for a couple seasons.  There are a couple appropriate spots where it could have a satisfying ending without concluding the grander story.

You should watch Joshiraku. It's a very similar setup that tends to get into some really weird areas. Unfortunately, it's not available on any streaming services.

Some choice information about Space Dandy:

Quote
Space Dandy isn’t serious at all and will be very comedic. “Like Mushroom Samba every week.”
They want Space Dandy to feel like old-school sci-fi but modern and new at the same time.
They’re trying to make Space Dandy as epic as possible that it surprises everyone watching it.

Quote
The characters ride their spaceship Aloha Oe every week to a new planet. A different planet every week. This means there will be brand new aliens every week.

Quote
Bebop was 80% serious, 20% comedy. Space Dandy is the opposite.

Quote
In the world of Space Dandy, they listen to all their music on cassette tapes. The latest audio technology is cassettes. MP3s and CDs do not exist.

Quote
Watanabe was worried about the different aliens all looking too similar, so every planet’s aliens have a different designer. The alien designers are all secrets and they will be announced episode by episode. There are some very famous ones. He told every designer to think of the aliens of their wildest dreams. They have over 100 aliens.

Quote
Space Dandy will have 20 artists working on the music. 3-4 songs per artist. No instruments invented after 1984 for musicians.

Berserk is good but kind of repetitive. Each episode seems to feature the sellsword company easily defeating an enemy; except for that ep where they fight the demon, they've steam rolled everything. Just saw ep9 where the king's brother tries to have Griffith killed.

Griffith gives me Rhaegar Targaryen vibes. Valiant, brilliant, beautiful, soft spoken, perfect warrior, etc. Even looks like him.

Technically he began writing ASOIAF in 1989/1990 so they're about the same age. Not saying something is being copied, just an interesting comparison between two characters.

There's definitely something sinister about Griffith, like watching the rise of a dictator.

Nah

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Gatts is the only person to make him "forget his dream". I wouldn't say that is the talk of someone who simply is a friend/equal. It's the talk of someone that can see his dream totally replaced by the care and attention of Gatts. You can tell by the way he lashes out that his issue is sexual in nature. Gatts leaves --> seduces the princess. Gatss is with Casca --> rapes Casca. In both cases he lashes out against Gatts using sex as a weapon. I don't think this is a random occurrence.

Eh, it can go both ways.
Seducing the princess is only a shortcut to the kingdom. He got impatient and reached for the stars a little too early because Guts humiliated him by finally freeing himself of his control. At their first meeting Griffith humiliated Guts, made him a follower and valuable asset. Raping Casca was a set-up to invade the real world later on and finally claim his kingdom. Probably also twisted revenge for the both of them being happy together, while he wasted away. But even as he's sacrificing everything and everyone he always had an ulterior motive: to rise above everyone else.

One of my complaints thus far is how disjointed the world seems. They go to a castle, win, go to another castle, win, go to the capital city for a bit, go to another castle, etc. I'd like more information on a lot of this shit, more insight on the tactics, etc.

Also while I'm guessing it'll be explained soon, Griffith's ability to figure everything out perfectly feels stale. I get that he has unnatural help but still, it's like easy mode nonstop. For instance the episode where he kills the guy he banged for gold. He knew he'd enter the field and leave the castle unguarded, he knew the sand storm would hide his forces, etc. Everything is perfect.

Overall I think the show is great obviously, but stuff like that bothers me. Also, the constant monologues and "people explaining shit." Like Griffith burning the queen and her conspirators, and explaining his plan in the middle of town...come on. I guess it's a weakness of the medium, much like comics.
