It's not an easy movie, but I think it's the most grown up and accomplished story in a Ghibli film. I love it.

My original excuse : I've wanted to watch ghibli in a nice format (not streaming on my shitty monitor)

But then I remembered I own Howl's & Poppy Hill on Blu ray and they're still in their shrinkwrap

I think I just have a problem putting things off

Local theatre only shows all of them 1-2 times a year so I can't miss it now

Mononoke is definitely my favorite of the 5 I've seen so far (5 more to go)

Honestly I always thought every part of Evangelion shipping is wrong, if only because they're all 14 years old.
I mean yeah Shinji and Asuka are obviously in full puberty and getting worked by their hormones. That doesn't however mean there's a lot more there than raw nascent sexual attraction going on or teens fooling around awkwardly, in fact it's shown and said quite explicity that Shinji only has a very superficial understanding and commitment to all the women around him.

Fans "shipping" those poor disoriented teens like they were romantic soulmates for life always had undertones to me.

That being said I'm very much in agreement that Asuka is the only character which would even qualify as a suitable (abusive) girlfriend. Rei is a massive Oedipean rubber ball and a stunted forever child. Misato is date rape. Kaworu is a fucking alien !

I just ordered vol1 of the Gundamn Thunderbolt manga, it looks interesting, and I saw this one manga named "Ninja Slayer" that looks like it could be my kind of stuff. Reviews online are confusing. Any bore impression? Ninjas, guns, cyberpunk stuff. Looks nest

I'm a man of simple needs, I honestly prefer mangas and animes with lots of violence (the fun 80's and '90 style stuff, not the creepy violence porn stuff), robots and cool gunfights. I guess i'm stuck in the past but eh.

I deeply enjoyed BioMega, vinland saga vol1, pluto (I think this was recommended here) and I started the first volume of Death Note, which I somehow enjoyed. I also have those Ghost In the Shells remaster pre-ordered at amazon, I like the anime. I also bought the entire Akira run a while ago, but its in my backlog right now.  I liked the first 3 volumes of Lone Wolf and Cub but the formula got very repetitive.

One day i'm gonna start Berserk but i'm kind of  at all those talks of animu rapes scene. I don't want that kind of stuff in my collection. Also it looks like there are 4821 volumes so that might get expensive and tbh, my time is limited..

Ninja Slayer is basically a parody of ridiculous 90's anime. The anime was pretty funny (but episodes were only 3 minutes long) not sure how the manga was.
