I got a Pokémon Go Plus for Christmas and it honestly makes the game so much better.
- Far more resilient GPS (the app got an update a few months ago that made GPS super flaky on my Pixels 1 and 2, the Plus seems to use GPS code from before that update.)
- Still tracks egg distance even with your screen off or the app in the background (literal gamechanger.)
- Pairs super easily.
- Long battery life.
- I've gotten so many items and quite a bit of XP thanks to my office sitting on a Pokestop, without being busted for having it out on my phone.
- Actually catching Pokemon is the weakest part, you only get one shot with a single normal Pokeball (no berries or Great/Ultra balls, and second chances.) So I haven't caught a lot with it so far.
- However, an advantage it does have is its *speed* of attempting the catch. Instead of waiting for the network and all the bullshit animations, after you press the button to throw, you'll know if you've caught it within five seconds (oftentimes less, since it can run after the first or second "ball jiggle.")
Biggest advantage: being able to keep the Plus in your pocket as you walk around in 9-degree weather while still spinning Pokestops and attempting to catch 'mons.
